Any help please results : Currently 100mcg levo... - Thyroid UK
Any help please results
Was test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Day before test did you split your T3 into 3 smaller doses spread through the day…..and last 1/3rd of daily dose approx 8-12 hours before test
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
How do you feel
Can I ask why not taking medication 24 hours before is mentioned?..no doctor has ever advised me to do this?
T3 doesn’t remain in blood more than 12 hours (does remain in cells)
We post this advice all the time …..many times a day
So levothyroxine was 24 hours before test?
That’s correct
Results show you are under medicated and likely need 25mcg increase in levothyroxine
Retest in 6-8 weeks
Ft3 result falsely low if last dose T3 was 24 hours before test
Ferritin is too low
Ideally you need full iron panel test for anaemia
Meanwhile working on improving low ferritin by increasing iron rich foods in your diet
No vitamin D, folate and B12
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Are you gluten or dairy free
Ah thanks makes sense...so does the t4 show under active or over I never understand sorry haha..im taking vitamin gummies at the min immune ones..my ferritin is probably higher than its ever been also for some reason...also I think you mentioned it before somewhere...about lipedema...well I was diagnosed on Wednesday!...always thought I had anyway...I take nothing else supplements wise.
Most people when adequately treated on levothyroxine plus small dose T3 will need both Ft4 and Ft3 at least 60-70% through range
Get vitamin D, folate and B12 levels tested
Cheapest is monitor My Health new test

Ditch the multivitamins
Come back with new post once you get results
Likely to need a separate decent vitamin D supplement and good quality vitamin B complex …..
Ferritin needs improving to at least over 70
Cutting gluten and dairy 100% may help significantly with Lipodema
I have lost over stone and half since cutting dairy completely, mainly off legs …..extraordinary…..lipodema is just melting away
Physio I saw has specialist interest in lipodema.
Already gluten free since 2017
Personally I have seen enormous benefits splitting levothyroxine twice day
I have always split T3 as 3 doses roughly equal 8 hours intervals
The specialist physio I found via here on this site
She was brilliant
Then wrote letter to GP including the special info pack for Dr included from Lipodema U.K. when you join
Both dairy and gluten are inflammatory foods
Lipodema appears to possibly be reaction to inflammation
