I actually got to see the requested Endo (from the list π)
Happy to report back that I had a good experience π even though I was like a rabbit in the headlights with stage fright! π³
No telling off for self-medicating T3, happy with levels other than borderline TSH so wanting me to slightly reduce my T4... happy to try as I have not altered since starting T3. Came away with a blood test request to be used in 8 weeks or so π
Not heard of Aristo (LF) T4 which I'm currently prescribed or Thybon Henning (LF) T3 but happy to look into it and feedback to GP.
Did ask which supplements I was taking βοΈ
Did take my copy of private/ NHS test results to add to file, though said they didn't really take these into account and wouldn't refer to them (fair enough, could be any bodies) though I think it added credence to my monitoring of additional of T3...
Going to match the dose of T3 that I am currently taking π€
I mentioned genetics but no real response...
Asked about supplementing calcium due to my low intake... π€·ββοΈcan if you like
Required a couple of questionnaires to be completed for before and after T3 symptoms tracking which were very good, asking about mood, memory, physical signs etc
30-40 min consultation which surprised me... thought I'd end up with a parking ticket π
Considering I'm rubbish in these situations, it was ok, I'm glad I went and hopefully this is the beginning of something positive π
PHEW!
Thank you to every one of you who have informed, guided and inspired me on this journey, wouldn't have done it without you ππ€π
I guess this means I am now on a legal high π«π

That sounds like you coped really well! I know we've touched on it in one of your previous posts but I know how hard it can be when you're doing the startled rabbit thing.
Also from what you describe in your post it seems that they were quite thorough. They also gave you time to get your points across and you were able to discuss your concerns. π
As you say ....'...hopefully this is the beginning of something positive' ππ»
Read this yesterday as I was pinned to the couch again, thoroughly depressed because my long awaited private endo appointment was cancelled on the day. Today I found I could wait no longer to start T3. I was heartened by your βNo telling off for self medicatingβ. Why this should mean so much to me I do not know. I am 70 years old for goodness sake and I am worried about βtroubleβ I might get into. Grow a pair βarTistappleβ!
I'm glad if I have shown that the headmasters office isn't so awful, I used the words "existential crisis" when asked why I had started on T3.... which resulted in a fair enough shrug..... I think it sums up the state of the NHS too π
We are of the same generation, @arTistapple, we were taught from small children to "not make a fuss" and "be seen, not heard", and because it was drummed into us for years and years, it is so difficult to go against and make a fuss, especially with people we do not know and who have some power over us.
I have learned to imagine them naked, with a nappy and a dummy, and my "tiger mummy" comes to the fore. It helps me, try it (but dont burst out laughing at the first moment!). Hug.
I canβt help but see the tantrum element. Itβs difficult to communicate with anyone on that level. Honestly itβs the ones that look coldly at you with no humanity that scare me. Neither off course is any use to us.
I inherited a "laser look" from my mother, perfected it when my children were young, and used it a lot when teaching. I have made many a medical professional cringe, but can also add my teacher voice if pushed!
Thank you, yes LF both π₯³ luckily, very understanding, I mainly agreed a lot to keep things sweet and hopefully we can build a relationship from here on in.... saying that I've no idea when I get to speak next?
