Scores on the doors are in!

After 3 months of vit's and mins I've topped the charts πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ€— will drop back to holding doses now

"For the most part this is an excellent test result today" Thank you Mr Medichecks πŸ™

Of course there is always a but.... but it's a good but!

T3 a little high (though I had lowered the dose slightly to 18.25 after the last test at the top)

so I can drop back to 12.5 πŸ‘ ( with 100 T4)

I've got 2 weeks before NHS blood tests for Endo appt, do you think my TSH might recover a bit in the time?

I must admit Iron is still a mystery to me though... Ferritin is up from 24 πŸ˜€

Will tag humanbean and SeasideSusie to comment

Have you been taking iron supplements

If so what

What are vitamin D, folate, B12 results

Hello SD,

Yes I've been taking 20mg heme iron and chicken liver pate a couple of times a week as I couldn't really get any advice from my GP πŸ™„

I don't eat much red meat as the histamine curls me up.... though recently I found out about hangar steak and can cope with a cheeky little teriyaki beef stir fry πŸ™ƒ if I take some DAO enyzmes

vitamin D

How much have you been taking? Now reduce to a maintenance dose

Similarly what B vitamins are you currently taking

You can reduce amount of B12 taking

High transferrin saturation means you have too much iron. Definitely stop iron supplements now

10,000 iu of Vit D & K2 now dropped back to 3000 iu

Solgar B12 complex 2000mg sublingual have swapped to Thorne Basic B

I'll stop the heme. Thanks πŸ˜‰

To help aid in digestion, have you tried digestive enzymes? Hcl betaine? Probiotics ? Ox bile? 20mg of iron isnt really much and an increase is needed to improve the levels. Congrats and its certainly a cause for celebration to have your levels improved.

I do have HCL betaine when I remember to take it (on the counter right in front of my face! πŸ˜•) and DAO enzyme when I overdo the histamine.

SlowDragon suggested to stop the iron as transferrin is high... 20mg of heme (more bioavailable than non heme) seems to have done the trick though I still need to work on my ferritin

100mcg T4 with 12.5mcg T3 sounds fine!

Do NOT be persuaded to alter dose by a medic wrongly fixated on TSH....it is not an accurate marker.

Your defence!

thyroidpatients.ca/2021/07/...

The important reading is FT3 followed by FT4

Keep FT3 within range to avoid overmedication

Well done!

Thanks Β DippyDame this is a great article! I have learnt so much from you sharing your battles πŸ™

I thought I might try for some NDT as my ratio's look about right?

Surely something a little more natural is preferable to synthetic?

DippyDameβ€’ in reply toTiggerMe

Don't upset the apple cart!!

I would stick with what works....that is what is preferable in this case

This is about more than numbers....clinical evaluation ( how you feel) is essential.

Adding NDT will upset the balance of your now therapeutic hormone levels

Ok, thanks πŸ€— I thought swapping to something more more natural might be the icing on the cake

I've come such a long way in just 3 months

I'm taking natural adrenals as my blood pressure still drops on standing...

Having just read Dr Peatfield's excellent book I now know I should have done this first πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
