No - they are not the same.

Different ingredients. Different dosages.

Same active pharmaceutical ingredient.

Opinion from the very few who have had Triyotex is that it is weak but wholly unclear why that is so.

A little more information in my medicines document.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. It is sectioned by UK - rest of the world, and by T4, T3, desiccated thyroid, etc.

And do keep up to date. I edit it frequently - sometimes trivially, sometimes extensively. If your copy is more than a few weeks old, please download it again. (You must download - not just view in a browser - for the Table of Contents to work.)

No they are not the same...at the time I was buying from a Mexican source that stocked both

I tried Tryotex capsules once when Cynomel tablets were out of stock

It is in capsule form and labelled 75mcg but I was never convinced about thd potency and thankfully didn't have to use it for very long.

I was taking 75mcg Cynomel at the time....Tryotex seemed weak in comparison

Unlike tablets difficult to divide the dose If required.

I ended up ( correctly) disposing of most of my purchase!!

It may suit some people but it wasn't for me

Yes I was offered this med by the place in Mexico I’d ordered Cynomel from. I asked for a refund but they just won’t do it. They said they would but never did now they ignore my emails. I asked the question hoping their offer of this med may be ok but obviously not. Lost over £200 🤦🏻‍♀️

I didn't think to ask for a refund....i only ordered a few boxes , just in case.... so was out of pocket by less than you.

It's madness that we need to do this.

Yes, that happened to me. They must have pocketed a lot of money that way.

I live in France and take Cynomel Liothyronine sodique on prescription. It is 0,025mg and is made here by Sanofi.

There are 30 tablets per box.

The difference is that your Cynomel in France is a product made by Sanofi (as you said).

The product in Mexico is made by Grossman, a part of Bausch Health (Canadian company).

They have different excipients.
