I've been a few different symptoms (tiredness, heavy and irregular periods, hair falling out) and my GP organised for a full blood test, which I've now had back.
My iron levels, B12 etc were all fine. But I was wondering about the Thyroid levels, in particular the T4; is it too low although being in range? I had my blood test at 3pm, if that makes any difference.
Serum free thyroxine:
13.2 pmol/L (Range:11.1 - 22 pmol/L)
Serum TSH:
2.35 mu/L (Range:0.27 - 4.2 mu/L)
This has been ongoing for a year and last time I spoke to a GP they advised me to have a coil fitted, to help with the periods, but that didn't get to the bottom of why I was having all the symptoms in the first place.
I'd like to be armed with as much information as possible before my next call with the GP. Is there anything else I should be asking to be tested for? Or any questions I need to ask?
i have similar symptoms, lots of hair loss, pins and needles, leg pain, irregular, dizziness , brain fog. I had all blood tests privately in end to check. Worth getting thyroid checked and following slow dragon advice.
Not sure of your age but also symptoms of peri menopause and fall in estrogen. Ihad no idea. Interestingly my vitamin D was on low side but in range as well as folate and b12. I have started to supplement and over last few days started to feel a little better. Menopause gp said most people in uk do not get enough vit d. The sunshine vitamin lacking particularly in winter months.
My leg pain is getting me down and joints clicking, has resulted in me not being able to be as active, i was doing 3 classes a week until September and then bang .
I am going to try hrt to see if it improves symptoms. If it doesn’t work then back to gp.
