hI everyone.

I have now received my test results from medicheck.

I will write the medicheck in capitals to compare with Gps test done 2 weeks ago.

I have been on 5mg of carbimazole and folic acid for 2 and a half weeks now.

I'm surprised at the TSH result but don't know what it actually means.

TSH 8.08 RANGE 0.27-4.2

gp's was 0.01 range 0.27-4.2

CRP 2.31 RANGE 0-3

gp's 54 range 0.0-5.0

T4 17.6 RANGE12-22

gp's 34.3 range 12-22

VIT B12 111 RANGE 25.1-165

gp's 265 range 197-771

FOLATE 45 RANGE 8.83-60.8

gp's 3 range 3.9-20

FERRITIN 61 RANGE 30-150

gp's 98 range 13-150

VIT D SAMPLE ERROR

gp's not tested

T3 SAMPLE ERROR

gp's 4.1 range 3.1-6.8

THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES 21.3 RANGE 0-34

THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES SAMPLE ERROR.

This result has appeared on my gp records .TRAB(tsh receptor antibodies)R.3.65

sorry for the long post.

can anyone explain any of the differences in tests.

the private test was done at 9am but the gp was done later in the morning.

thank you.

TRAB(tsh receptor antibodies)R.3.65

What’s the range on Trab antibodies test?

Dramatic reduction in thyroid hormones and dramatic increase in TSH

Suggests you have autoimmune hypothyroid thyroid disease, also called Hashimoto’s, usually diagnosed by high TPO or high TG thyroid antibodies

Hashimoto’s frequently starts with transient hyperthyroid results and symptoms before becoming increasingly hypothyroid

Take these results to your GP

Looks like you at least need to reduce Carbimazole dose….or more likely stop it

B12 is low

Ferritin dropping

Contact Medichecks for replacement test kit to redo missing results

Vitamin D

TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 together and TG antibodies

thank you slowdragon.

the

TRAB(tsh receptor antibodies)R.3.65 doesn't give a range. It says consistent with graves disease potentially abnormal.

I will speak to gp and medicheck are sending a replacement test.

it is possible, but rare to have both Hashimoto’s and Graves’ disease

Usually managed by endocrinologist

ive now had the proper result through that my gp did on TRAB (tsh receptor antibodies).

value 3.63 range 0-2 consistent with graves disease.

So with Graves’ disease confirmed that’s odd that TSH rose so dramatically between the two tests

See what next Medichecks test shows
