Hello, I had the thyroid test done by Monitor my health in Feb 2022 and my TSH was raised (4.48).
Visited GP who ordered new tests July 2022 which showed TSH 3.47 but very high thyroid antibodies (44; range was 0-6). Also very low ferritin levels so been on iron tablets for 3 months.
Had TSH tested again today and results are now 2.34 (no other blood tests were requested by GP so no idea if ferritin levels have improved, or what my FT3 or FT4 levels are)
Really unsure what this means; thyroid antibodies massively high but TSH apparently fluctuating but normal? I have lots of underactive thyroid symptoms which was why I tested in first place, but not sure what next steps should be?
Any advice/recommendations on this gratefully received!
Thank you Fiona

Thank you for replies. My full blood test in July showed Vit B12 at 365 (range 180-640), Ferritin at 24 (range 15-200), Serum folate at 12.3 (range 3-20). Don’t think Vit D was tested. I need to make appt to discuss with GP but wondering about having all vits tested privately first? However, I also wonder if this is worth it as have already been told they only go on their own lab results (even though I went with Monitor my Health specifically because they are a NHS lab) & even though I have high thyroid antibodies (44, range was 0-6) think they will just say your TSH is within range (& falling, which presumably is a good thing?). So confused as feel no better from my course of iron. 😒
