I had a partial thyroidectomy 7 yrs ago due to thyroid cancer, take 100/150 levothroxine alternate days.
Following my therapists advice after having low mood (for yrs now) i asked my gp to do a full blood test, they assured me they were testing for t3 and t4, but looks like they havent tested for t4.
Do i now need to pay for a private home test to get t4 tested or can anyone make any comment on these results without the t4 result please? Im wondering if id be better taking whole thyroid or if the constant grey mood thing is just emotional and not linked.
Gp said everything is fine. B12 is low due to vegetarian diet, the blood sugar edging into prediabetic isnt massively suprising as ive lost the plot with my usually healthy diet in the past 6-12 months but is something i will address, hopefully if i can stop feeling sorry for myself into my chocolate 🤣
Any help would be appreciated TIA

Looks like a typo, I'm sure you mean that to be Free T3 as you have a Free T4 result there.
TSH: 1.6 (0.27-4.20)
FT4: 14.8 (11-23)
FT3 is unlikely to be tested by the lab, even when requested by a GP, when the other results are within range.
Your FT4 is just 31.67% through range which is very low. TSH is also on the highish side for someone on Levo. I thought after thyroid cancer the aim was to keep TSH suppressed?
The aim of a treated hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges, if that is where you feel well.
You are undermedicated.
Im wondering if id be better taking whole thyroid or if the constant grey mood thing is just emotional and not linked.
I wouldn't consider whole thyroid (NDT) at this stage. I would get an increase in your Levo to bring your TSH down and your FT4 into the upper part of range. That's when FT3 should be tested, if FT3 is then low with a high FT4 that would be showing poor conversion.
We can see that your B12 has been tested but you really need to also test Vit D, Folate and Ferritin. All nutrients need to be optimal for thyroid hormone to work properly.
B12: 215ng/L (197-77?)
Gp said everything is fine. B12 is low due to vegetarian diet.
This result is absolutely dire. Your GP should be testing for B12 deficiency and Pernicious Anaemia.
Do you have any symptoms of B12 deficiency - check here:
If you do then list them to discuss with your GP and ask for testing for B12 deficiency and Pernicious Anaemia. Do not take any B12 supplements or folic acid/folate/B Complex supplements before further testing of B12 as this will mask signs of B12 deficiency and skew results and if you have B12 deficiency is not detected and treated then this could affect your nervous system. B12 deficiency should be treated before starting folic acid because folic acid can sometimes improve your symptoms so much that is masks B12 deficiency.
As you are vegetarian are you supplementing with B12 at all?
Chocolate, in small amounts, is very good for you, but it needs to have at least 70% cocoa. The best one is from Hotel Chocolat; it keeps your sugar levels steady and improves your mood. It also relaxes you.
