Officially discharged from endocrinologist

It’s official I have Now been discharged from my consultant. I was actually expecting him to advise my GP to reduce my thyroxine as he said that I should have intermittent days of 75/100 mcg but to my surprise he hasn’t, however reading his thoughts in my Tsh still bothers me as he thinks I should be higher. I would be interested in anyones thoughts on this? He obviously didn’t listen to most of what I said because I spoke about Vitamins etc of which he managed to swerve and cut me short, which is the norm with him. My brain fog seems to have stepped up a gear lately and I’m finding it so hard to absorb ‘stuff’ and my blood pressure is quite low even though I normally do have low pressure I have the feeling it is affecting me at this moment, maybe this hot weather? I am trying to drink more water but it doesn’t seem to be making any difference. Anyway here is his latest letter to my GP.

His views on where TSH should be are appalling and rather sadistic. He appears to believe that people with dodgy thyroids or no thyroid should have a TSH which is actually higher than that of healthy people.

You should find this link of interest...

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

I notice he doesn't mention actual reference ranges for the numbers he quotes.

He never references the ranges and when I do he will always have a answer for it. Thank you for the link I’ll read that later when the grandchildren have gone home 🙂

What a load of tosh! This man should not be treat thyroid patients because he knosw nothing about it. I think being discharged is the best thing that could happen to you. :)

Yes I agree, when he told me that he was discharging me, I did say that he hadn’t really looked after me in the last four years, so no going back for me now 😄

Hey there again :

Despite the fact this endo never listened to you I'm sure this final letter has left you disheartened as it doesn't reflect or acknowledge your health issues which are very real.

On the bright side you are now able to reconsider your situation and be in the driving seat, either finding an endo who specialises in thyroid or Do It for Yourself as many of us on this forum have been forced to do.

Exactly on all counts, I could tell by his attitude that it was the end of the line but hey ho not totally unexpected, so onwards and upwards eh
