hi all....just a brief update... Went to Rhuematology appt this morning and saw consultant. Guess what? Bloods and xrays all clear including swollen sore wrist... Just soft tissue irritation. So no rheumatoid arthritis OR fibromyalgia... Not enough painful pressure points apparently Told him about why I think my joints and muscles hurt.... That perhaps they needed some T3 as my results are always at the bottom of the range..... Lol... Not his area of expertise but wished me luck with Dr P!! ......Though he did say there was a cross over between thyroid, CFS , fibromyalgia.... Mmmmmm yes there is!! So discharged from another clinic still symptomatic... But continuing the good fight!!
Anybody else absolutely freeeeezing??!!!
Hugs as always...... K x x

It really does amaze me that docs will send you to all sorts of unnecessary appts with specialists, which must cost a fortune, all so they can avoid giving you a little T3 pill which would solve all the problems. It truly is astonishing the lengths they will go not to have to prescribe this drug.
Great news thought that you past all your test/xray's and bloods with flying colours.
Yes i am really cold today - the building I work in is only single brick, so now insultation, plus I work right under a window. My feet and fingers are like ice.
Sorry that should read "No insulation" not now insulation - maybe the colds got into my brain as well.lol.

So sorry that this was another wild goose chase for you. Nice to know what it isn't I guess, but whatever happened to the spirit of Sherlock Holmes? I don't understand how any specialist or GP can be satisfied with sending someone away and not wanting to follow up by investigating the possibilities further.
Just as an afterthought: When my husband was alive we used to organise walking tours. One morning someone twisted their ankle. Knowing we had a doctor in the group my husband asked for his assistance - "Oh, no" he said "Not my area of expertise! I run the risk of litigation if I touch that ankle!" The guy was a brain surgeon. So there we were in the middle of nowhere deploying our St. John's Ambulance skills to help this man.
I'm sure Dr. P. will help you. Do you see him soon?
Good luck with the t3. I have felt so much better since going onto t3 and cutting out the t4.

However, he did admit that there was a crossover between thryoid, fibromyalgia, cfs and so on. Maybe, doc, they are variants of the same basic disorder, a lowered metabolism, indicated by your coldness, They daren't think for themselves and they all work in separate compartments and don't join up the dots.
Maybe we should contact the 'think tank' for the government to say that if docs were allowed and encouraged to investigate further rather then turn patients away they would get a greater recovery level -therefore more people could go back to work, it would cost less on the NHS -cos there wold be less unneccsary referrals and less symtoms prescribing of meds and less poor ill patients having to claim on the Social! Wow money saving tips for Mr Cameron and his fogies......might be a break through for better treatment for thyroid sufferers and other chronic conditions! x
