Hi everybody, I wonder if you can give me your ideas on my Thriva blood test results. I am posting 2 sets of results as my first set of thyroid profile results weren’t complete. My main interest is the thyroid elements I’m just posting the other’s to let you know the results as I know b12, D and ferritin are important. (My ferritin was high and I’m looking into that myself). I am prescribed levothyroxine 100 daily and 125 every other day, but because of a mistake in my prescription (for a very long time) I have built up a lot of 25 s. I have always wanted to take a higher dose than the doctor would prescribe, as I have read so many times on this site that to feel well you should aim to be at the top part of the range, the doctor stopped increasing the dose because my TSH went too low. I have increased my dose sensibly and I have now been on 150 levo for about 10 weeks so I thought it best to get a blood test before increasing my dose any more. I take selenium, vit d and Thorne basic b complex

Presumably you knew that you have Hashimoto’s
Are you on strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine
FT4: 20.7 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22) 87.00%
FT3: 4 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8) 24.32%
Helpful calculator for working out percentage through range
Shows poor conversion
You don’t want to increase levothyroxine any higher, you might want a very small reduction (perhaps 137.5mcg once or twice a week)
Suggest you retest again in another 8 weeks
You could try splitting your levothyroxine into two smaller doses, taking half waking and half at bedtime……this sometimes improves conversion
What are B12 and folate results
Did you stop B complex a week before test?
Do you also take any magnesium or vitamin K2 mk7
If ft3 remains low after next test
Email Thyroid U.K. for list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologist and doctors who will prescribe T3 alongside levothyroxine

Hi SlowDragon thanks for your reply and sorry for my late acknowledgment. Yes I knew I have hashimotos (the endo said it was not relevant as my antibodies were only slightly raised). I know there are so many things we can do to help ourselves, so I am trying things step by step. Although I have quite a good quality of life I feel that I am not quite right and suffer with brain fog and am over weight and just cannot shift it. I think this is all because of my thyroid. To answer some of your other questions. No not gluten or dairy free, this is something I will eventually try, no I do not always get the same brand I will put in a request at the chemists. My b12 result is on the image I posted right at the top 116.0 range 37.5-188. Is this a good result or should I aim to get it higher? I will try the dose splitting I have not heard of that before as a help with conversion. My folate was very high and I am looking into that. I do not take any iron supplements. Yes I did stop B complex a week before my test as suggested on this site. Yes I have a good protocol for D and take the relevant quantities of mag, boron, K2 and A. Thanks for the percentage calculator, should both ft3 and ft4 be above 75%? Thanks again for your reply.
