hello, I wonder if I could get some advice, I’ve had a bit of a rocky road just recently. My TSH went up to 4.09 from 0.06. I am on T3. I found out that the statins my GP put me on interfered with my the T3. So I stopped taking them. I then was put on sertraline anti depressants again interfered with my T3.
I hope the question is allowed regarding the different makes of T3, please delete if not allowed
Thank you in advance

Amanda we wouldn't all recommend the same brand of lio . For some of us it is what we can get readily. For others they have their preferred brand but it is personal preference.Stations are not recommended for hypothyroid folks. If you type stations in the search function you will find replies to posts outline why. It is scientifically shown that they are bad for hypos and amongst other things make them more susceptible to muscle damage.
All medication and vitamins should be taken 2 to 4 hours away from thyroid meds
Setraline is well documented as interfering with oral thyroid hormones. Because setraline affects levels of serotonin it alters the serotonin levels in the gut. This in turn can alter the absorption of thyroid meds meaning a slight Inc in dose.
(The branding Cytomel is also used by Ace in Netherlands. It is a different formulation and comes in different dosages.)
You have to be aware that Mercury Pharma liothyronine is available only in 20microgram dosage. Where Pfizer Cytomel is available in 5 and 25 and 50 microgram dosages.
We regularly find members reporting that they get on better with some makes than others. But it is often not possible to predict. And with liothyronine, it seems most often to be that some feel slightly stronger than others.

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
Please forgive me if this is a silly comment but I have noticed that with one of the brands of liothyronine I am prescribed you cannot take half a pill. You have to dissolve the pill in water, drink half and throw away the rest. I'm wondering if you have a brand that cannot be cut in half? That might explain your energy drop.
That dissolve in water approach is certainly the advice for some makes.
However, it appears to be based on the MHRA not being convinced that splitting (or any other technique) is consistent enough. Not that the tablets literally cannot be split.
As the poster has even been supplied with a pill cutter, it appears that the pharmacy doesn't have any problem trampling over MHRA advice!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if it would have made more sense all round for the endocrinologist to have prescribed 20 + 5 microgram Roma capsules. No cutting. No splitting. No dissolving.
Yes, I know it's about consistency in the tablet, I didn't write that out because I presumed we all knew. Yep, remarkable that we are supplied with pill cutters and told to split the tablets and yes, how much more sense it would make to prescribe in smaller doses!!!
Roma are capsules - so a prescription written for tablets wouldn't work.
if the doctor would write a new prescription, you'd be fine.
(Roma capsules are the least expensive liothyronine in the UK (NHS prices). 5 and 20 are £55 for 28, 10 are £65.)

Yes, that's my point. My endo gave me the prescription and pharmacy gave me the pill cutter but months later when I was reading the leaflet I saw that some brands are not suitable for splitting, you have to dissolve the whole tablet in water and drink a portion of the solution. Hope that's clearer. I had noticed I was worse even though on the same dose before reading the leaflet. Sorry if I wasn't clear before - I'm saying it's worth checking that the brand of tablet you are splitting is suitable for splitting and not one of those that must be dissolved.
