I posted about 2 months ago about my neck swelling/goitre and was advised to start supplementing for low vit d and b12 which I’ve been doing. Obviously getting my vitamins to optimal levels is important for my health but I’m also just really concerned my neck is going to look like this forever. The swelling is all I see and it’s seriously lowered my confidence in my appearance. Ultrasound was normal, no nodules or anything. The woman scanning said it just looked a bit ‘fatter on one side’.
Text from dr:‘Your ultrasound was normal with no lumps over the thyroid, submandibular or parotid glands. There was no soft tissue mass or pathological lymph node. This along with normal blood tests is really reassuring that there is no concerning thyroid or other neck abnormality.’
Will optimising vitamin levels help shrink the swelling? Thanks x

If low vitamins caused the swelling, then optimising them probably will shrink it. But, it's doubtful that that is what caused it. Mainly, there are two reasons for a thyroid swelling: Hashi's and iodine deficiency. So, have you had your antibodies tested? Or you iodine? The blood tests that have been done may be 'normal' - although I question the use of that word - but were the right tests done? Probably not. Do you know what was tested, and what the results were?
Those antibody tests are negative, but one negative result doesn't completely rule out Hashi's, because antibodies fluctuate. And, some Hashi's people never even have over-range antibodies.
I have no idea if the GP would do an iodine test because I don't live in the UK, so don't know what's available. You can but ask.
