just anticipating that if I accept the GP’s wish to try dropping down from 100 to 75 mcg levo. that I then don’t end up with an unsuitable brand …Teva is a no-no possibly due to acacia rather than mannitol…I suspect some lovely admin/ member has a list of such things… thank you.
which levothyroxine brands are made in 75 mcg? - Thyroid UK
which levothyroxine brands are made in 75 mcg?
Perhaps the brand you have now hae 25s or 50s and your GP can make up your dose in multiple pills instead?
I use 2 brands, one 50 and one 25, to make the 75 needed. I have ‘Mercury Pharma or Almus only. No Teva’ specified on my prescription (due to adverse effects from the latter). Alternatively, you could use a pill cutter to divide a 100 tablet into 4, discarding one quarter.
Why discard one quarter...three of these remaining portions will make another 75mcg dose.

Stored correctly loss of potency over a few days is likely to be negligible
The average half life of levo is 7.5 days so any slight variation, the result of cutting, should even out
But maybe I'm of the "waste not, want not" generation!
I need high dose T3-only which I have to buy so appreciate the supply and cost involved. I would consider "discarding" as a waste of both medication. and money
helvella's put all the info on thyroid medicines here : helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.
I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes injectables and descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc. PLUS how to write prescriptions in Appendix F.

Look at my profile!
It has this link to the index page for my blog:

I've never felt comfortable with the idea of pinning links to my own blog, etc.
Thanks …my iPad is on go slow this morning and not downloading your Dropbox info.
Levothyroxine is only produced in 25, 50 & 100mcg. It just a case of taking 1x50 & 1x25mcg daily. Teva is the cheapest and licensed option, so generally the first option for your GP, like me, it seems you've had a major issue with Teva. I take a dairy free version made by Ascot, it's unlicensed so it's not cheap. If you have a helpful pharmacist, he or she would be able to ask their suppliers which one is available in your area....be wary of one made by IPS, there are no buffering ingredients (most have several like wheat starch etc) because of that, you can end up feeling heavily overdosed with the resulting conditions of being hyper.
'Levothyroxine is only produced in 25, 50 & 100mcg.'
Not true. Teva also produce a 75mcg tablet. And there should be another brand, Aristo Vencamil, in a 75mcg tablet obtainable very soon now. Aristo Vencamil is lactose free.

75 microgram levothyroxine are available from Crescent, Teva, and (soon) Aristo Vencamil.
(For completeness, 12.5 microgram are also available from Teva and Crescent.)
You do not need an unlicensed product to get lactose-free even if you need to avoid Teva - Aristo Vencamil is lactose-free.
