Revised results

I got a shock this morning when I saw my Medicheck results, I checked back on the nhs web site, they’ve now revised their results.

TSH 0.08. 0.27-4.2

T3 6.1. 3.1-6.8

T4. 16. 11-22

That’s with me taking 100mcg levo and 20 mcg lio daily for the last 2 months.

I’m now completely confused.

Previous post said results these were your NHS results

TSH 3.5 0.27-4.2. (Was 3.53)

T3 4.4. 3.1-6.8. (Was. 4.69)

T4. 20 12-22. (Was 20)

So that’s weird

New version of results is what you would expect on T3

Who knows how that happened! My big concern is the TSH, I am having a few hypo symptoms. What can be done to raise it? The Endo did drop levo from 125 to 100/125 and now 100.

That’s just what happens when you take T3, it almost always drops low

Many, many members on T3 have TSH lower than yours ..

0.01 or lower

Most important results are always Ft3 and Ft4

TSH doesn't cause symptoms, whether it's high or low. It's T3 that causes symptoms if it's too high or too low.

What symptoms are you having?

Slight hand tremor occasionally, and sporadic heaviness at the front of my throat. Should I have said hyper?

Not necessarily either. Could just be coincidence if they are only sporadic and occasional. But certainly nothing to do with the TSH, so don't worry about it being low. :)

Thanks for the reassurance. I’m getting myself in a tizzy. After two and a half years of battling with the Endo, when he could be bothered to speak to me, I’m beginning to feel so much better on t3, I guess I’m just panicking over how he will interpret the results.

Yes, that is always a worry. Thyroid patients are only as good as their endo. And, most endos are rubbish! They don't seem to understand that taking T3 will lower/suppress TSH, because you don't need it anymore.

Have a look at this reply from humanbean in another thread from today. She explains it all so well.

What do you mean NHS revised results? How did they change?

Roulette26 profile image
Roulette26 in reply to PurpleNails

Dramatically! They’rec on my previous my post

So the first ones were incorrect? No wonder you’re confused.

Were these NHS results or private Medicheck results?

the first one's they put on (on the same day as you took the test) seem to have been put on in error.....and then replaced later with the actual results . still weird though ? .....The first ones are so much like your previous ones that it makes you wonder if someone accidentally put the previous results on the system again, instead of putting the new ones up ... except that the fT4 is slightly different , so even that explanation doesn't really make sense.

I've had my last 2 sets of NHS results appear online the same day. Are they getting more efficient/ technical, or did they do so much testing over the past couple of years (as opposed to examining patients) that there are very few of us going for blood tests?

My local path lab has been empty the last 2 visits too.

When my first set appeared on Tuesday there was a note to say the ranges would be added Friday. Friday I found a completely different set of results, the original were there but now dated April. I’m so fed up with patient access, patient knows best etc

Can you drill down on for example TSH (where it appears in pink)?

Sometimes mine get added, and the date appears old, but if I drill on the pink text the current results are there. Very odd to get a comment about ranges being added later.......seems bizarre that they would be doing this manually.

You’ve got a posh site, pink indeed! After being on patient knows best for 5 years I’m only just having results added.

And I thought PatientAccess was rubbish!

In my experience, the labs often run the actual tests within a few hours. At worst, next day.

However, time to become available, first to the GP, then to patient (via app or on paper) can be much longer.
