Buying T3 abroad?

Forgive me in advance if this question has already been answered in the forum but I'm looking to buy liothyronine from abroad as I just can't the private prescription costs- which countries still sell it over the counter at pharmacies?

Did you have the tests suggested in a previous post ? Adding T3 can be difficult and it is important to know your vitamin and mineral status to ensure your thyroid meds work well. If you are converting the 150 mcg well then it is possible adding T3 is not needed.

How are your levels of B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD ? All need to be OPTIMAL for you to feel well. You were going to be tested - did that happen ?" Without a thyroid it is possible you may need T3 but don't be hasty and please follow the advice given to you on earlier posts. Are you able to find them ? Low vits and minerals can be the cause of your symptoms as well as low T3. Do hope you feel stronger soon. Let us know how things go ....

Hi CC, I am in Crete at the moment. No problem buying one at a time otc, some will sell 2, one 3!

I did find that showing my thyroid surgery scar helped, as they said that there are ‘tourists’ who buy to sell on, so one at a time..

Just came from Istanbul, Turkey . You can find L4/l3 combo called Bitiron or L3 (Tiromel) .

Greece for sure. We went to Corfu for the long Easter weekend specifically to buy T3 for me. Managed 26 boxes across numerous pharmacies (one asked about my condition, none of the others did. Most would only sell 1 or 2 boxes, but I did manage 5 at one).

They were all a fixed price of 2 euros 30 cents a box.

Prior to Covid we got some in Santorini and Athens (we were on a cruise, and I wanted to try getting some T3). Again, no issues at all.

We're back in Athens in the summer for a cruise, so will probably stock up on more whilst there, as the ones I got in Corfu were all dated 2023/2024.

A friend brought a few packs from Andorra for just over €7. Much cheaper in Greece at €2.30 but harder to find. Not tried Turkey.
