Sty on eye frequently since taking levothyroxine

I have been getting sty on the eye on a regular basis since starting 50 mcg of levothyroxine ( was also taking 5 mcg cytomel T3 but stopped t3 due to palpitations). I have Hashimoto

Had cataract surgery few years back, I now have glaucoma, treated with eye drops.

Alopecia Aretera, hair loss is still there!

Has anyone experienced sty issue while on levothyroxine? I am in USA.

The following link may be helpful. At puberty I must have had over 100 styes. Very uncomfortable as well as looking 'not so good'.

I was given ointment by GP for styes but eventually they resolved about 2 years later.

I hopefully think that styes should now better medications nowadays.

Did you have palpitations after introducing T3 or before as my palpitations were the reverse, i.e. severe palps when on levo and reduced when T3 was added to T4 and when I took T3 alone palpitations resolved altogether.

I got palpitations after i started T3, after stopping T3 a few months ago, finally they have more or less stopped. Endo wont put me on t3 now!

We're all different and it can be puzzling but I am very glad my palpitations ceased as I had them 24 hours a day initially.

Hi Suzi. My father was a pharmacist and his remedy for a stye was to put a used tea bag on the eye and leave it there for 5-10 minutes. It works!

Thanks. I have tried that in the past. My sty is better now!
