Take Metavive , anyone?

If you use Metavive ..please will you contact me and tell me a little of your experience…

As someone who has tried absolutely everything….and finding and paying for private doctors impossibly difficult….. ..used t4 …NDT..t3 …and all combinations….

I’d like to have a go with Metavive but have no idea how to use it….

Am willing to very carefully experiment..,.I’m extremely sensible ! And would love people to tell me

Do you take Metavive INSTEAD of all the above?

…AS WELL?

What is a sensible way to transition? Or to add in to your regime…

All replies welcome !! Many 😊

I switched to Metavive 11 from thyroid s when there were supply problems. It works well (as proven by blood test).I used to take 3 thyroid s ,and i now take 6 metavive 11 split in to 3 doses.

hope this helps..

Hello .. Thanks so much for replying … you are the ONLY one !! It is certainly helpful .. but please tell me why your doses of traditional thyroxine and or T3 that you WERE on and are you exclusively on Metalvive ? It strikes me that x6 daily must work out as very expensive .

I started out on levothyroxine, and went up to 200 a day.(I’m a 15stone male) but still didn’t feel well.I requested a t3 test from the g.p. But this was denied,so i had a medichecks test that showed t3 was low on the scale, prompting me to trial thyroid s,which worked well.At the time it was cheap, but due to swine flu in China the supply of pig thyroid is not what it was and the price has skyrocketed..

I personally don’t think thyroid s is as good as it was so i think ill stay with metavive despite the cost..

What exactly is Thyroid S?

Thyroid-S is a Thai brand of NDT (natural desiccated thyroid), like Armour but Thyroid-S is available without prescription.

In case you're wondering what the difference between Thyroid-S (or any other brand of NDT) and Metavive is, then Metavive is a thyroid glandular made from pigs or cows thyroid (they do both versions) which doesn't have any declared hormone content which is why it's sold as a food supplement and not a medication that requires prescription. Some people do very well on Metavive, for others it does nothing.

Can I ask why you no longer feel that Thyroid-S is as good as it used to be?

Because i put on over a stone in weight basically. It might have just been a dodgy batch as others say they think its ok,but I don’t want to risk another six weeks of my life to find out..p.s. the weight has come back off with the metavive.

Are you on the "new" Metavive (the one containing nucleotides)?

Thanks, good to know that it works for some!

Hi how do you know it contains nucleotides? I have started metavive I two months ago. 2 tablets a day. One tablet didn’t bring my tsh level down at all.

Hi Jollypolly just found this link from a previous post so you get some idea of peoples’ experience:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Not sure if the link will work as it doesn’t seem to have copied out well, sorry!

I was on T4 only, then on T4 and T3, now back to just T4…. Still not right!

Good luck
