Unsuccessful blood testing

Hi as a follow up to my recent posts I have just received notification from Blue Horizon blood testing that my 2nd attempt at submitting a finger print blood test has failed as the blood was haemolysed :(

So sadly I can’t get any blood results at this time.

Thanku to everyone who commented on my scalp issues. Thankfully they have disappear so not sure if thyroid, hormone related or to do with covid vaccines ??

My thyroid bloods are due to be taken by the GP in June so will see what shows up then unless o have any more issues & I will endeavour to get them done sooner although I know Gp will only do basic TSH testing 😏

Thanks again for all the support & help 😊

Hi

I do DIY phlebotomy. I've never had any luck, with finger prick tests either. Despite following all the advice here. I've drank water, waved my arms about like a crazy person stood on stools, not stood on stools. Pricked my fingers until I resemble a pin cushion and nada.

Not enough blood to merit a plaster, let alone fill a phial. So now I tie my dressing gown belt around the top of my arm, swab my inner elbow use the lancet and hey presto.

Plenty of blood. So much so my bathroom resembles Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Only joking lol. But better too much than not enough. Those tests aren't cheap and it's so frustrating when your body won't play ball. I'm not advocating this method but just saying there are alternatives.

Thanks for reply not sure I’m brave enough to try that method but if it works for you great 😊

You can pay extra for private blood draw at near to you clinic or (more expensive) for nurse to visit

Make sure nurse is booked for 9am, or earlier

Have you asked at your Surgery if they’ll do a private blood test. Most will do that for a fee. It would be worth asking.
