Should I ask for T3?

I have my latest results after taking 125mg from 100mg levothyroxine.

I also had covid in this time which may alter results. I don't know.

I have been feeling worse the last couple of weeks. Initial symptoms coming back.

All testing done 24 hrs after medication fasted.

Results 5/10/21 on 100mcg

TSH 4.42 mU/L(0.35-4.94)

T4 11.8pmol/L(8.0-19.1)

T3 3.1pmol/L(2.4-6.0)

Started 125mg

Had covid 28 October

Results 6/1/22

TSH 0.73mU/L(0.35-4.94)

T4 12.0 pmol/L (8.0-19.1)

T3 2.8 pmol/L(2.4-6.0)

SERUM FOLATE 5.6ug/l (3-20)

Serum Ferratin 55.3 ug/l (7-150)

Serum B12 356ng/l (200-700)

Vit D tested 14 March 21 67.90

I am confused why T3 has gone down.

I have a telephone appointment with my doctor tomorrow and wondered whether to ask for T3.

I initially started with results of

TSH OF 16.20 (0.27-4.2)

T4 8.2(12-22)

T3 3.41(3.1-6.8)

14TH March 21

I started at 50mcg and have been increasing since.

Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏

Thankyou.

Please read my post from a few hours ago. It is VERY similar to yours in terms of t3 dropping.

Please add ranges on these results

How long on current dose of 125mcg

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Have you had TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested to confirm autoimmune thyroid disease

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is caused by autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Serum B12 356ng/l (200-700)

Thankyou SlowDragon

I have popped in the ranges.

I have been on the 125mg Teva since 7th October 2021 after testing.

I have tried other brands but didn't feel great on them.

So make sure I get the same brand each time, lots of times I have to go back in as they have given me the wrong ones!

Yes I have both TPO and TG Antibodies

Since the Vitamin D was tested I now take 2500 mg. I was just taking 500 before so I hope that has upped it. I will get that tested.

I am gluten free and eat lots of red meat and vegetables, organ meat too.

I still have a little dairy and am working on stopping with it altogether.

I take B12 on and off, the note on my blood tests says highly unlikely to be Vitamn B12 defiecient? I worry I'm over dosing.

Also I take Vitamin C and Magnesium in powder form.

Seems you need an increase Levo which will increase both your T3 and t4. I find my T3 goes down rapidly when my folate gets low in range.
