I have been on Tibolone 2.5mg for 3 years. In the last 6 months my symptoms have started to return (hot flashes, low mood, tired, weight round trunk and aches) Nowhere near as bad as before going on HRT but I have an annual appointment on Wednesday with the nurse to review my HRT. I wanted to ask if these symptoms are due to my natural hormones depleting and if it was possible to either increase my Tibolone or add an oestrogen patch alongside my Tibolone. Has anyone been in this situation and what did you change? Any advice would be appreciated and when I raised this with the doctor she just suggested I come off HRT!!
My menopause symptoms have started to come back... - Thyroid UK
My menopause symptoms have started to come back. Could it be that my body's naturally produced hormones have reduced?
Hi Wendy I have been on Tibolone (Livial) for roughly 25 years it is not actually HRT it is classed as a natural alleviator for the menopause, it is made from a South Mexican Yam and imitates HRT but just lately I have had one or two symptoms back and am looking to get my Testosterone checked as from the age of 50 women's testosterone start to decline (not only a man thing) as it is part of our hormone make up I don't think doctors will prescribe it if not a lady had written in the daily mail that she buys a cream from the pharmacy privately just a small blob on the thigh once a day and within a few weeks she feels back to normal. There is a book you can get called Everything you need to know about the menopause (but were too afraid to ask) by Kate Muir published by Simon & Schuster £16.99 or £15.29 at mailshop.co.uk I'm buying 2 one for a friend who needs help, I assume my previous Dr put me on it because I also have Diabetes Type 1 (52yrs) and thought it would be safer for me.
Hopes this gives you an insight and helps
Look at a Facebook group called ‘The HRT Truth Collective’. It has experts to advise as well as a huge community who share their experiences. I have found it invaluable. In my humble opinion it sounds like you are ready for a review or change and the reason this Facebook group exists is because of the lack of professional medical support on this important issue. Thank goodness it appears to be moving more into the spotlight with the media of late. Women are faced with the problem of self help with menopause symptoms and that just should not be the case! Good luck
