I have been diagnosed with under active thyroid in 2015 and have been on Theroxine 50 ever since. Feeling good. Would like to start taking the Marine Complex, exclusive to IMEDEEN Skincare tablets. From sources across the web I found it contains: Grape seed extract, Zinc, Vitamin C, Lycopene, Vitamin E. Imedeen is a marine extract rich in proteins and polysaccharides similar to those naturally found in the skin's supportive tissue, are essential for skin structure and moisture. Would appreciate your feedback. Thank you

Can I take Imedeen if taking Theroxine 50
The ingredients are:Fish extract, Bulking agent (Microcrystalline cellulose), Soy fibre, L-ascorbic acid, Anti-caking agent (Silicon dioxide), Zinc gluconate, Tomato extract (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), Grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera L.).
The ingredient that stands out is soy fibre. Soy is thought to inhibit the absorption of levothyroxine. The advice generally given on here is to avoid all soy.
Supersoco,
Welcome to our forum,
Ingredients for Imedeen Time Perfection are: Fish extract, Bulking agent (Microcrystalline cellulose), Soy fibre, L-ascorbic acid, Anti-caking agent (Silicon dioxide), Zinc gluconate, Tomato extract (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), Grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera L.).
If you have Hashi, tomatoes are a nightshade that some need to avoid, and I’m not sure if soy fibre should be avoided as soy must be.
Imedeen are hugely expensive. Even a good quality marine collagen is tons cheaper and you can easily add the extras: Vit C, zinc and grape seed extract if you wished.
I like Bare Biology Skinful which is a completely pure marine collagen powder & nothing else, tastes neutral so you can add it to anything, costs about £30.00 & lasts for two months.
Hi
The jury is out on collagen supplements. There maybe some evidence they can help with joint health and recovery from injury or exercise. But as to their purported effects on hair, skin and nails, there seems very little evidence.
Collagen production wanes quite rapidly as we age, which is why we get wrinkles. Smoking, excess alcohol, sun exposure and a poor diet high in sugar or refined carbs will cause collagen to decrease further. Diets high in fruit and veg ,especially those that contain plenty of vitamin C are the best. Vitamin C helps with collagen production.
Honestly I think that as with many supplements we get suckered into buying, and I most definitely am guilty of this myself, are just going to produce expensive wee.
Sparklingsunshine,
I guess the name is misleading but the brand is pure, no additives, no combos.
Gut issues are enormously common in Hashi sufferers and I take collagen mainly for gut health as its a major component for strengthening the intestinal lining to heal & prevent leaky gut. Also bone health and if there is any benefit to my old skin then it's a bonus 😁.
Hahaha, thank you! Noted on expensive wee. My friend is in her late 40, looking like young 20. She is on imeedine for at least 7 years… looking great, flawless skin. But yeah, she had to alter her diet way earlier than started taking the supplements. It all makes sense.
Didn’t realize the tomatoes were a nightshade 😨 shocking, but good to know! Thank you for your respond. I will check the Bare Biology skinful. If I can find it in China.
Hello. I haven't heard that about tomatoes. Why should some avoid them?
Andie222,
Tomatoes are a member of the nightshade family & some Hashi sufferers are intolerant of them. They contain lectins & alkaloids which can become reactive substances in some people encouraging inflammation, aches & pains, tingling, numbness, etc, I have no troubles with nightshades but I know some do.
