Post 3 months ago showed you were likely under medicated…yet GP halved your dose from 100mcg to 50mcg daily

Unbelievably incompetent

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Now you are SEVERELY hypothyroid

Make an appointment tomorrow urgent

Insist on 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Request this is done NOW …..likely deficient

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?

I’ve never been told which it is just told hypothyroid and started in medication. I was actually told to get a book from library if I needed to know about it as the dr didn’t really understand it but that was about 20 odd years ago when diagnosed

If TPO or TG thyroid antibodies are high this is usually due to Hashimoto’s (commonly known in UK as autoimmune thyroid disease). Ord’s is autoimmune without goitre.

About 90% of all primary hypothyroidism in Uk is due to autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s). Usually both versions are just called Hashimoto’s

Low vitamin levels are particularly common with Hashimoto’s.

Gluten intolerance is often a hidden issue too

As you are now extremely under medicated and extremely hypothyroid likely to have very low vitamin levels

Being hypothyroid frequently causes LOW stomach acid this leads to poor nutrient absorption and low vitamins as direct result

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 NOW

All previous posts in last 10 months it’s been suggested you get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing

Come back with new post once you get thyroid antibodies, vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results and ranges

Unlikely dose Levothyroxine should ever have been reduced from 125mcg

More likely low vitamin levels

See different GP and you will need to slowly increase Levothyroxine dose back up in 25mcg steps over several months
