T3 with vitamins?

Just reading a post about spacing T3 1 -2 hours either side of food but what about vitamins and minerals and herbs? Can they not be taken at the same time? can't see why not. How far away from coffee should it be taken? Maybe I am getting this all wrong! Think i need more T3.

I treat T3 the same as Levothyroxine, and if I took NDT I'd do the same as well. So to avoid anything affecting absorption take thyroid meds on their own, one hour before or two hours after food, with water only and water only for an hour each side. Any other medication or supplements (and I'd include herbs/homeopathy in this) should be 2 hours away, although some need 4 hours (iron, calcium, Vit D, PPIs including Omeprazole, HRT, oestrogen, and possibly others I can't recall at the moment). Anything transdermal or sublingual are absorbed differently so there's no problem with when those are taken.

What is it that you think you are getting wrong?

Thank you - I didn't know it was so long between things. It's very hard to organise as i have many herbs and supplements due to Lyme and maybe the T3 isn't working properly if I have been taking other supplements too close - I have been taking the T3 3x's a day I will change things up thanks

I think it must be difficult with taking T3 three times a day. I take mine twice a day, 12 hours apart - 12.5mcg am and 6.25mcg pm. It's worth experimenting and seeing if twice a day suits you.

My am dose is when I need the bathroom in the early hours of the morning, around 5am. It keeps it well away from everything.

And what time is your second dose? I thought that it didn't stay in the body long so better over a longer time if you need it constantly?

As I said, 12 hours apart, my second dose is 5pm.

The half life of T3 is 24 hours. It peaks in the blood 2-4 hours after ingestion.

We are all different, we need to experiment to find what suits us. Some people take their T3 all in one dose, others split it into 2 or 3. Some take a dose at bedtime and find it helps them sleep, others say a bedtime dose keeps them awake.

I used to take my all in one dose early morning, now I split it I find I don't feel any difference. The reason I split my dose is because I had a suprise test at the GP surgery so I'd taken my dose beforehand, the spike in the FT3 result (measured at the peak after ingestion I presume) was that it had taken it a fair bit over range and I wasn't comfortable with that, so I started to split my dose so any spike would not be as high.

Thank you - that is helpful to know - I will try two doses as that may help
