Hi all who is using t3

I got my medication yesterday to find that 2 containers seals were taken off.

I contacted my Pharmacy to explain, I would not be using them who knows!

Afaghieh, Have you asked the pharmacy to replace them?

Hi clutter

yes I called the pharmacy and she agreed to change them.

My worry is because of the cost, and whether they were the true brand.

Agaghieh, my T3 is sometimes dispensed in sealed white tubs which I struggle to unseal and other times in small brown child proof lock bottles. I suspect they are supplied to the pharmacy in larger bulk amounts and dispensed by the pharmacy into tubs or bottles.

I think there are markings on the pills too so that you can double check what they are.

It is concerning though. I think once upon a time none of us would've batted an eyelid but we like our medicine to be sealed up these days!

It is not supplied in large amounts, so far as I can tell, but only up to 112:

Tubular glass vial with snap-plug closure or tamper-evident polypropylene container with polythene lid, containing 28, 56, 112 and 100 tablets of Liothyronine sodium 20mcg.

And not necessarily in all those sizes.

Thanks, Rod. Looks like my pharmacy sometimes decants from the larger sizes to me.

If I were on T3, I think I'd try to always get it in original packaging even if that meant going to another pharmacy. Allowing dispensing from larger packs allows yet another uncertainty about the product to creep in - for no good reason.

At one time my pharmacy repacked in brown child proof bottles which were difficult to open. I asked them not to do this and they made a note on their records. I received original packaging after that. It's their attempt at safety doling out child (and adult) proof containers.

Hi

There was no reason for packs to be opened as I have 4 packs of 28 tabs each time.

Clutter

I have never seen a large pack. There are 28 tabs of 20mcg in each

Hi Anthea55

What worried me was that I also have another med for my osteoporosis. This time I was given a different brand, when asked was told by pharmacist that, we are given " bin brand" and have to use what's in it.

Hi Epictetus

My t3 is ordered by Endo consultant. I always have them in little plastic tubes of 20mcgx28 tabs and are sealed this time 2 of them were open. That is why I rejected. because of the cost they could have put others in there.
