Hi please could I have advice on dosing with T3 please. I continue to have symptoms of hypothyroidism on 50mcg Levo yet I felt completely well with T3 added to my Levo. I was taking 200mcg Levo and 20mcg T3 before in June 2017. I was on 200mcg Levo and 20mcg T3 before T3 taken away, then on 17mcg Levo and then 150mcg Levo and then 175mcg Levo before reduction to 50mcg Levo and then no Levo for 6 weeks because I am thin and have always been thin but now I feel awful
Dec 2017 (50mcg Levo)
TSH 5.2 (0.2 - 4.2)
FT4 14.8 (12 - 22)
FT3 3.2 (3.1 - 6.8)
TPO antibody 387 (<34)
TG antibody 205.3 (<115)
Thank you

The doses were changed because my endo did not believe me to be truly hypothyroid. The T3 was removed by an endo who was not an advocate of T3 but my previous endo was.
You will have to take your own health into your own hands as neither doctor or endocrinologist have a clue how to treat patients.
I think you will have to source your own levothyroxine and liothyrone but I would make an immediate appointment to talk to your local MP. Don't be afraid - because of these two unknowledgeable medical professionals and they have a cheek to warrant this title. There can be serious consequences if we are not given the correct dose and at the moment you are on none. I think I'd like to sue all of them if it was possible.
If you have any thyroid hormones at present and you have already been taking them, I would go back to the dose you felt well on. Complain to your MP and if he needs he could contact Lyn Mynott at Thyroiduk.org.uk She recommends the following for us, the patients, who have had T3 withdrawn. Never mind that you have no hormones at all at present. They are crazy - no other word for it.
Have you any thyroid hormones at present, i.e. levo or T3?
I'd phone your doctor on Monday and say you need an immediate prescription as you are feeling quite unwell otherwse you will have to go to the A&E department. Also state that as you are hypothyroid she can cause damage to your heart etc if you have hormones withdrawn. (You'd have to be without hormones a very long time but she wont know that anyway )- she has no right to experiment with your dose especially to withdraw it.
I personally would report her for negligence to wherever we complain to as it sounds so ridiculous.
It is scandalous that her doctor thinks because patient is thin she doesn't need thyroid hormones! But for her to withdraw hormones altogether is farcical.
I’m so sorry you’re suffering because of this, I struggle to understand how this can be allowed to happen if you were well under the previous prescribed meds with T3 and now feeling awful you can I think submit a case as evidence for the T3 campaign assuming you are in the UK? Hopefully you’ll feel better soon, you’re under medicated but some people have genetic issues which effect their conversions of Levothyroxine to T3 and a whole host of other things so a Levothyroxine suits all and dose by TSH alone doesn’t work.
