Should T3 be taken on an empty stomach? Because I have been told to increase my T3 but sometimes find it difficult to take after lunch time because I am not sure if ok to take after a meal or before.

Yes Margaret, all thyroid meds should be taken one hour before or two hours after food, with water only.

I had the same problem when I increased my T3, I was taking it about 5pm so it was well after lunch and a good hour or so before evening meal. But it restricted having a coffee and maybe a biscuit or something in the afternoon. I started taking my whole day's dose all at once before I got up in the morning, it never made any difference to how I feel. Some people need divided doses, it looks like I don't. You could try that and see if it suits you.

Mine is split three times over the day. When I first get up, an hour before lunch and an hour before dinner.

You can also take T3 by dissolving it under the tongue in the mouth. It passes directly into the blood stream from there and you do not have the problems with having to avoid food or carry water about. I take all of my T3 this way and have done very successfully for a number of years.

Thank you for answering that would obviously solve a lot of problems because some days I do forget to take it or if I do remember I haven't got any water with me.

You could always take it sub lingually .. I have always done that and have been fine.
