My TSH is 0.69 fT4 10.6( 12-22). FT3 3.9(3.1 -6.8)

I am having intermittent high blood pressure . Do you think a higher dose of NDT would help? I have been given blood pressure medication which I would rather not take!

How long did you leave between your last dose of NDT and the test?We need to know to judge how representative those results are.

Last dose 12 hours before test on empty stomach and at 8.30 am.

In my opinion looking at how low your ft4 and ft3 are then you might benefit from an increase in meds. Worth a try!How are vitamin levels?

D was 126. B12 636. Folate 20. Ferritin 57.6.

Very interesting!

I have had a 24 bp monitor, 136/71 was the average daily reading. But I have been to A+E 3 times in 18 months with readings over 200/100.

Sunday morning when I got up I could not walk straight so we went to A+E. BP 200/100. Drugs to lower it only lasted half an hour so they admitted me. I spent the night in hospital and by morning it was 119/60 without intervention. Then 137/70 on leaving yesterday evening. They sent me home with the BP drugs , which remain unused. I go back Friday for more BP readings and eco.

My resting pulse is around 57 and down to 44 while sleeping. I get a lot of ectopic beats and have an echocardiogram this Friday. Also a 24 hour Adrenalin test. I am reluctant to take the bp lowering drug before I have had these tests.

In April I was given drugs to lower my heart rate in a bid to get my BP down. I had to stop taking them after 2 weeks as they caused my heart rate to drop to 40 and I felt tearful, tired, very very cold and depressed. It’s the same Endo who is prescribing these new BP drugs I am reluctant to take.

I have taken 1/2 more NDT today and will test again in 6 weeks.

Hello again Jonathan

My pulse was up to 90 on Sunday with the high bp. Dropping to 55 over night, so my Fitbit said but I had a lot of ectopic which my watch would not have picked up I expect.

It was 55 with high bp in April. That is why I could not understand why pulse lowering meds were given back then.

I do split my dose, 1 1/2 grains am 1/3 grain pm. I still have a year or so of TMan ( no longer made). I added extra 1/4 am today and will add 1/4 extra pm. I can try 50/50 from tomorrow .

I have self sourced for a number of years since Dr Skinner died.

I did tell the hospital Endo yesterday that I felt I need extra meds, as I felt my body lacked the power to get my heart beating properly. So you and I seem to be on the same track, just not the endos!

Thank you so much for replying to me.

I do not have hashimoto’s, just a dried up thyroid that has not worked well for decades. So I doubt it could be a flare up. And my thyroid results do not show a rise. Look forward to your PM.

😁 let’s hope it works. I do not want to add another drug. The side effects of Amlodipine are almost the same as my symptoms ! Seems crazy to go down that route when my thyroid labs are so low. Why did the Endo think my labs were acceptable ? It’s a worry.

Hi JonathanI found this old post as my GP refused to increase my levothyroxine from 100mcg day as he says my TSH is 0.5 but thats because I privately source Thybon Henning 10mcg day and T3 was top of range but T4 low - still feel cold, tired, weight gain etc. Now my BP has gone from 100/70 to 140/90.

I have a home blood test from Thriva to do in the morning so will find my levels then but would appreciate if you can pm the details of your thyroid Dr mentioned in your earlier post please.

Best wishes,

Suzanne

Hi Jonathan I typed a long reply then lost the message but thank you for your replies. I have lived in Lincolnshire for 36 years now and quite like the slower pace of life. I will get the recommended book and see the website for the private thyroid Dr and hopefully get well again in time.

Ive posted off my blood sample to Thriva.co so will be interesting to find out how my levels are.

I stopped taking all medication over xmas as I just got so fed up with the farce with GP. I asked for an increase in Levothyroxine but he did advice and guidance to Endo ( been on waiting list 1 year) who responded my TSH is suppressed so no need for an increase. I did say well thats due to the private prescription for T3 Thybon Henning but hit a brick wall so given up with them.

Many thanks once again for the recommendations.

Best wishes,

Suzanne
