Blood test Results

Hi, my last blood test results are:

TSH: 0.145 ( 0.450-4.500)

Free T4: .89 ( .82-1.77)

Free T3: 2.7 ( 2.0-4.4)

Are my T3 and T4 too low? I know my TSH is low, however I feel very tired and sleepy like when my TSH is high. I currently take 50 mg Tirosint and 5 mcg of T3 twice a day. Should I increase my T3?

I take Vit D3, Vit K2, Zinc, Vit C, Boron

Thank you.

Arios,

TSH becomes irrelevant when we medicate T3, and yours is under range but not that low.

Thyroid hormones are both low indicating a needed dose raise. If this were me and I didn't have any known conversion issues, I would be looking to raise Tirosint to 75mcg, hold for six weeks, test and then adjust dose according to results. Another raise to 100mcg might be required. By medicating the little bit of T3 that you are will encourage further conversion of T4.

Do you know iron & VitB12 levels?

I don't know my B12 levels but my iron is a little low. My MCH ( whatever that is) is low.26.5 ( 26.6-33.0)

Arios,

MCH (mean corpuscular haemoglobin) is part of a complete blood count (CBC) so should be used along the other measurements. It refers to the level of haemoglobin in your red blood cells (erythrocytes). Haemoglobin contains iron.

It would be better to know RBC quantity, size & shape but in isolation your low MCH is pointing towards anemia (iron and/or VitB12, folate deficiency). As well as inadequate thyroid hormone making you feeling tired, this would be contributing because haemoglobin carries oxygen around our body. Also adequate iron, VitB12 & folate is required to help our meds work better.

Thanks for the information, my other iron levels are good, RBC is 5.14 ( 3.77-5.28) My B12 was not checked. I think I will start taking B12 vitamin just in case.

Arios,

It's not recommended to supplement without testing unless a deficiency was more than likely. Also, you won't know what amount to supplement.

VitB12 should be kept in balance with other B vits so members often supplement a B complex. Also folate.

I agree with Radd both T3 and T4 are low. I would do what Radd had suggested to you, increase the Tirosint to 75mcg and observe how will you feel and retest in 4-6 weeks. Then we will have an idea about your conversion and your levels of T4 and T3 with the new dose and we go from there.I hope it helps.

😊

Arios, do you have your ferritin levels?

Arios in reply to Chrisgies

My Ferritin was not tested this time but it was tested at the beginning of the year and it was fine, I don't have that result right now.

That's ok. Just make sure ferritin is between-50-100 ng/mL. ow have you bee feeling? Did you change anything on your meds dose?
