Which brand of Levothyroxine?

Hi I reverted to taking Levothyroxine two years ago when NDT stopped working for me. I have discovered that the Teva brand and now more recently the Mercury Pharma brand of levothyroxine make me feel very ill. I think that the fillers Acacia powder and Mannitol may be the problem though I’m not sure. I now want to try another brand but am cautious. I think I am going to request Wockhardt or Accord. Has anyone any experience of this? Can anyone give me advice please?

It’s a case of trial and error which brand of levothyroxine suits each person

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

What are your most recent results?

Often symptoms are due to being under medicated rather than brand

Obviously essential to regularly test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Have you had these tested recently

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. I am not able to respond fully at the minute as at work. I am aware of the issues with Vit D, Folate, B12 and Ferritin and am currently working on these. I am also taking Liothyronin with my Levothyroxine. I have just had recent blood tests yesterday will respond more fully when I receive them. Thank you. 😊

I’ve just been quickly reading the information you kindly provided. Do you have experience of people doing well on liquid levothyroxine or if it difficult to get the correct dosage?

Some people cannot tolerate the (relatively) large amount of glycerol they contain.

You could try Aristo which is made in Germany. I was on Accord which used to be called Activis but found that when it changed to Accord I didn't feel that well although the manufacturer is adamant that nothing has changed. Anyway when I went to pick up my last prescription it was Aristo and at first I thought Oh no not another brand but I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say that I have felt so much better on this brand
