Hard to "advise" you. Your results are typical of someone on T3 only.

How do you feel is the most important question at the moment.

Still fatigued and stiff muscles on and off. Its hard to know if its from hypothyroidism or Hashimotos.

Your stiff muscles could possibly be low Vit D, muscle and joint aches and pains can be associated with this. What are you current levels of the key vitamins

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Do you take any supplements at the moment?

If you take a Biotin supplement or B complex did you leave it off for 7 days before the test?

When did you take your last dose of T3 before the test?

Hi, I've just sent off a vitamin test. I take vit D C and B daily also selenium and omega. ( I never taught to stop them before being tested! I took my last dose of t3 roughly 14 before bloods were done.

OK so last dose of T3 should be 8-12 hours before blood draw.

Because you continued with B Complex this gives false results so it's difficult to interpret your results with any accuracy. The Biotin in B Complex will give false results when Biotin is used in the testing procedure, which most labs do use.

If you take Vit D you should also take magnesium and Vit K2-mk7. Magnesium helps the body convert D3 into it's usable form. Taking D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and Vit K2-mk7 directs calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissue where it can be deposited and cause problems like calcification of arteries and kidney stones, etc.

Are you on strictly gluten free diet

Hi slowdragon, I was on a strick AIP diet but I have been reintroducing foods over the past 2 weeks. I feel so weak and unwell since yesterday and I did have some gluten a few days ago.

How long had you been Aip ?

Personally I feel dreadful if I eat tiniest speck of gluten

I had been on aip for approximately 7 months and I've been slowly reintroducing other foods. Some days I cant have small pieces of gluten with no problem and other times I get a Hashimotos flare that lands me on the sofa for a few days feeling dreadful.

How much T3 are you currently taking

Nessynu profile image
Nessynu in reply toSlowDragon

Hi Slowdragon, I'm taking 10-15mcg morning and again in the afternoon and 10mcg in the evening.

On T3 it’s essential to take exactly same dose every day

So you either need 10mcg in morning or 15mcg in morning. You can’t vary it

30mcg in total isn’t high dose for someone on only T3.

Typically on T3 you would expect a suppressed TSH.

Have you tried adding in levothyroxine alongside T3?

Perhaps initially at just 50mcg daily. Retest 6-8 weeks later

I did suggest adding T4 to my doc last time but he said there was no point as T3 would be fine when we find the right dose.

Well many people need both Ft4 and Ft3 at good levels

30mcg T3 is more typical dose of someone also taking Levothyroxine

My next appointment with my doc is July so I will be strongly suggesting that I be given T4 alongside my T3 meds as s trail! Thanks again to you all for your invaluable experience.
