Has anyone tried drinking the adrenal cocktail daily, to help with high cortisol levels?..

Did it help?

If not what did help your high cortisol?

I’ve tried it with some acerola cherry powder not orange juice. Too much sugar in the orange juice which isn’t good especially for those with thyroid issues. Didn’t do it long enough to notice much of a difference but certainly didn’t cause me any noticeable harm. Lots of people swear by it.

I didn't want to take the orange juice either. I took the ingredients in plain water and took a vitamin C supplement instead of the orange juice.

I can't say it did me much good but it never did me any harm at all. If I wake up feeling particularly groggy, with severe brain fog, then I will occasionally make one up and drink it immediately on getting up.

I read somewhere - wish I could remember where! - that the orange juice is essential due to something (can't remember what!) in the orange. Doing it with water or any other type of juice will not give the same results because it's not just about the vit C. If only I'd bookmarked that article!

Yes I read somewhere that the reason is so minerals (potassium and sodium) get to the Liver to then nourish the Adrenals.

My personal reason for avoiding orange juice is that it makes me hypoglycaemic. I’ve tried this before with salted orange juice which Tom Brimeyer of Forefront Health recommends. I started to feel lightheaded, hungry and irritable. I stopped the orange juice and I was alright again. Some people are extra sensitive to sugars even fruit sugars, especially orange juice where all the fibre has been removed. A stressful event changed a lot of things for me understandably. It might be okay for some people.

Surely it's more important to find out why you have high cortisol levels? How high are they & what other symptoms do you have? i had high cortisol levels that were caused by benign pituitary tumour, once it was removed my cortisol levels dropped.

In my experience high cortisol discovered via saliva testing is dismissed by doctors, and if the patient persists in trying to get help they are just told they are anxious and/or depressed and they should do more exercise and get more sleep.

Hi thank you for your answer, i suppose it is worth testing, I will talk to a doctor about my results... but I'm sure they have tested my pituitary along the way, I have had so many tests I'm.not sure... my symptoms are mainly mental, depression and anxiety up and down moods, dizziness.... my cortisol is low in the morning and high midday and teatime, then lowers off in the evening like it should, the results from the saliva test came with a doctors report which said highly unlikely that I have cushings... I think the case of my high cortisol at the minute for me is poor t3 and also the fact I can't increase my t3 because of the high cortisol so its a roundabout.. also the fact I have had alot of physical and mental torture for the past 17 years with my ex, I don't think that helped my adrenals neither....

Try the Singing Canary from Trim Healthy Mama way of eating. It probably is on Pinterest. It has lemon and turmeric in it. 🙂
