What's the next step?

My latest test results have all gone in the wrong direction. 🤦‍♀️ but it at least vindicates why I feel so rotten because I've spent more time than I'd like to admit second guessing why I feel rubbish.

Blood was taken 25 hours after last levo, at 7:30 in the morning.

Results were:

TSH - 2.81 (0.27 - 4.2)

FT4 - 19.3 (12 - 22) 73%

FT3 - 4.2 (3.1 - 6.8) 29%

was previously

TSH -1.37 (0.27 - 4.2)

FT4 - 21.6 (12 - 22) 96%

FT3 - 4.8 (3.1 - 6.8) 45%

I don't really know where to go from here; ride it out for a few more weeks or petition the GP for an increase but instinct tells me I need an increase but I don't have much room for one in terms of T4.

I don't want to get into the realms of private prescriptions if I can help it but it is an option.

Vits almost optimal, except ferritin, which I'm working on.

Ferritin - 18 - 13 - 150

Vitamin D - 131 - 75 -175

Folate- 41.4 - 8.83 - 60.8

Active B12 - 92 - 37.5 - 188

Is it worth paying for a private consult with someone recommend? I guess I just want someone else to lead me on this and tell me what I should do next. I'm so tired of doing it all by myself. 😞

Obviously your ferritin is terrible at 18

What are you doing to improve this

Going to take several months for ferritin to improve slowly

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Which brand?

in reply toSlowDragon

Prescribed 125mcg a day but take 100/150 both accord.

I'm taking 3x iron tablets every other day. Last one at 5:30 (with levo taken at 9:30 at the earliest.)

As well as eating loads of spinach with lemon juice, drinking 3x spatone a day, a 1000mcg but C supplement, and cooking with cast iron.

Will have to see how much Ft3 improves once ferritin gets up around 70

in reply toSlowDragon

In the meantime do you think I should try and get an increase in levo?

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking Always get same brand?

in reply toSlowDragon

125mcg (as 100/150) and yes, always get the same brand.

perhaps see if GP agree to trialing 150mcg every day

in reply toSlowDragon

Yes, I think I will. I have concerns about tipping my T4 over range but cross that bridge when I get there I suppose!

Some people are fine with over range Ft4...others find it worse...or can’t even tolerate at near top of range

in reply toSlowDragon

Test before this one I was at 96% through range and felt great! So hopefully I can tolerate a higher level. ,🤞🏼

Have you any thoughts on getting a private iron infusion?
