Hi guys, my endo is trying to lower my dose of T3, she's says because of suppressed T4 which apparently has been suppressed for years before taking T3, this blood test was not for endocrinology it was for something else but the endo blood test was on the phlebotomy system so that got done without me knowing so I'd took my T3 before I went, my results are
Free T3 4.4 3.6-6.4
TSH 0.01 0.30-6.00
Free T4 3.4 10.00-22.00
I take 60mg of T3 and 75mg T4, I'd already took 40mg of T3 before the blood test, Thanks guys x

Hi sorry its about my TSH, they want me to take less T3, will this work out better or worse, I'm very confused now because I used to be on T4 only for 18 years or so. X
Taking T3 lowers, even suppresses TSH, this is just what it does and if your T3 is prescribed your endo should know this. You're taking quite a large dose of T3 anyway so it's inevitable.
Even if your TSH was suppressed before on Levo only, that happens in some cases, it did with me. My TSH was suppressed on Levo only for at least 14 years, now I also take T3 it's still suppressed.
Taking your T3 before your test would have no bearing on your TSH result, only on your FT3 result.

That's difficult to say because we don't know how you feel nor how you felt before on T4 only. What is evident though, as I said before, is that considering your doses both your FT4 and FT3 are low. Areyou sure your FT3 is only 3.4 with a range of 10-22?
