Yes, because there's no connection.

The antibodies indicate that you have Hashi's. But, it could be that the Hashi's isn't advanced enough to have destroyed your thyroid enough to reduce it's output of thyroid hormone, and thereby raise the TSH.

:)

Yes .

But which thyroid antibodies TPOab , or TGab ?.... (or TRab 'graves hyperthyroid' antibodies)

Also how 'normal ' is TSH ?... 'normal' as in 'just within the lab range'

Or 'actually normal for the majority of the healthy population'.. which is usually below 2

So raised levels of TPOab show there is an increased chance that the person will eventually become overtly hypothyroid.. (defined as TSH over-range AND fT4 under range) due to the immune system gradually attacking thyroid tissue and leaving them without enough left to produce enough T4/3 for their needs .. but this can be a very very slow process, (decades) And it doe not mean everybody with raised TPOab will , just that they are more likely to get there in the end. To some extent it possibly also depends on the level of TPOab .. some people have extremely high levels of TPOab ( in the thousands ) some have levels that are only a little above range in the low 100's.

So.... if it is her that has the raised TPOab but she currently feels well she should not worry , but should keep an eye on thyroid levels via blood tests for TSH /fT4/3 occasionally and keep an eye out for hypothyroid symptoms.

If her 'normal ' TSH turns out to be over 3 and she currently has symptoms likely to be hypothyroid , then she could post here for further help.

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Results from Medichecks 10months ago showed you were under medicated and dose increased to 100mcg

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Vitamins were poor and high thyroid antibodies confirmed Hashimoto’s

Presumably you have been working on improving low vitamin levels

Have you retested since?

Please add most recent results

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand

As you have Hashimoto’s are you on strictly gluten free diet

If not, get coeliac blood test done before considering trial on strictly gluten free diet
