Hi All, Firstly sorry I've not been in touch - it's been a very busy time with tests, scans, x-rays and the like, as my body seems to be going to pieces at the moment! I even felt proud of myself for overcoming my anxiety and spending 1 hr 10 mins having an MRI scan for my spine (scoliosis has worsened). I also was seeing an acupuncturist for 3 months following my year of awful withdrawal symptoms from antidepressants and then finding myself with constant bowel problems which no siegmoscopy, colonoscopy, or scan could diagnose. I was very stressed and anxious, not helped by the pandemic or the endocrinologist who saw me once 14 months ago but clearly labelled me and hasn't been that helpful since. It was she who identified I had gut problems and was treating me with herbs - unfortunately she went abroad for 4 months but will be returning home soon and I can't wait.

Was let down at the last moment by my GP's surgery where I was meant to be having the TRAb test done but it's now through: THYROGLOBULIN 11.7; THYROID PEROXIDASE: 17.3 - am I reading this correctly in that I don't have high antibodies for Graves afterall? Worth also mentioning here that maybe my new diet has had something to do with this - did the Cambridgeshire Sciences intolerance test online and was amazed to find high intolerance to all dairy plus eggs; wheat, gluten, nuts, alcohol, yeast, soy, peas - have only been eating fish, meat, vegetables and fruit.

Won't bother you with all my results as they are depressing bone-wise so in for a lot of problems but the thyroid scan looks good with nodules still thought to be benign and they haven't grown anymore and neither has the thyroid gland which started growing again down one side but obviously will monitor myself for any changes.

I've clearly now had a reaction to the second jab which I had on Sunday and don't feel at all well and in a lot of pain with bone problems and so wish I could sleep. Sic weeks is up next Thursday and endo arranged blood test for me at the hospital plus a Thyroid Peroxidade Antibody test (a bit late in coming) and at the great time of 11.00 am even though I asked if it could be arranged for an early time. I telephoned the hospital this morning and managed to change it to 8.00 am without any problem (thanks to all the good advice on HU). Have also ordered a thyroid function test myself from Medichecks which I will do on Tuesday at home (again I'm trying to take control of things so that I'm not at the mercy of you know who).

I realise it is late and you may not see it until tomorrow but thought I'd write now to give you all the news and to thank you all so much for all the help you have given - have read up so much and even tried to attend Dr. Hertoghe's webinar which was sooo informative (oh to have someone like him who really wants to help his patients). Will stay in touch, take care all of you.

Never be sorry Delgor as the forum is to dip in & out of as you please 😊.

Sorry to hear you are been having such a rubbish time & well done for controlling the anxiety. By controlling it we can become more confident in our abilities to control it, otherwise it risks being further fed.

Thyroglobulin & Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies are used for a Hashi diagnosis. They can be present within Graves disease but to eliminate Graves you will need TRAb’s testing. I thought you were having this done?

When our bodies are stressed with lots of health conditions and ailments we can develop intolerances but as health improves so do intolerances generally. Fish, meat, veg & fruit sound perfect.

Just for your info, I don’t think it matters what time of day TPOAb is tested. That rule is pertinent to TSH.

I’m still dipping in & out of the Dr. Hertoghe's webinar. I love how he says T3 😍.

Oh dear me Radd, I ordered the Medichecks Thyroid Receptor Antibody Test - please don't tell me that this was the wrong one?

Delgor,

There isn't a Medichecks test called Thyroid Receptor Antibody Test.

The Medichecks test that measures TSH receptor stimulating AB's associated with Graves is called TSH Receptor Stimulating Antibodies Test.

I am wondering if perhaps you ordered the Thyroid Function with Antibodies Blood Test as this would be the AB's you have given results for above?

Yes, I have just gone back and checked and I did order the TSH Receptor Stimulating Antibody Test - even made a note that I was checking for Graves antibodies having had a thyroidectomy in the past, now presenting with multi-nodules, and latest thyroid function test showing me to be overactive. Clearly, there has been a mistake made here as the result of the test they are showing me was taken on 7th April and I've never done an antibody test with Medichecks before. Will have to investigate further as there must be an account mix-up - flaming Nora!
