Morning all.
Im not been funny, but I've got a big double chin . It's either weight gain and alot gone to ma chin or is it thyroid. I feel like I'm blaming everything on thyroid.
Not liking this new look anyone else with this .

I am not medically qualified but I can understand your feelings. If you are not on the optimum of thyroid hormone replacements weight gain is a common question.
It could be due to the fact that you aren't on an optimum dose for your needs. When taking replacement thyroid hormones, the aim is a TSH of 1 or lower and a Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the ranges. I am aware that few GPs will do all of these but, if you wish, you can get a private home test. If you decide to do so, make sure you are well-hydrated a couple of days before blood draw.

Aw thank you , yes I might be better testing myself and then least I've got something to show doc , apart from my chin!!!!
For the best results always get the earliest blood draw. It is a fasting test but you can drink water and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose and test and take it afterwards. This method will give the best results. You should ask GP if he will also test Free T4 and Free T3 (probably wont) and B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. If GP wont do tests you can get a home blood draw
Post your results, with the ranges. Ranges are important as labs may differ in their machines .
I feel your pain. I'm blaming my thyroid, even though I know I'm carrying a lockdown load. When I am hypothyroid my face goes quite moonish. Maybe get some blood tests to check it out.
