Buying NDT/T3 without prescription

Hi

So I have been taking NP Thyroid (before that WP ) for a number of years. Self diagnosed and self medicated.

The cost from the US has more than doubled and I was wondering if you lovely people could PM me with alternatives or places you receive your meds from without prescription.I know it is likely that the cost is high everywhere hence the alternative question too.

I am also doing a reverse T3 test as my meds don’t seem to be working as well these days so if any of you source T3 without a prescription can you let me know your source and cost (PM only please) as I have always thought I could have a conversion problem.

I will do all relevant tests and research before I change anything but I am just seeing what is possible at the moment.

Thanks!

If I were you, I wouldn't waste my money on a rT3 test. It won't tell you anything that you can't get from other tests - e.g. to tell how well you convert, just test FT4 and FT3 at the same time and compare them. But, you have to be on T4 only to know how well you convert. There's no way of telling if you are taking T3/NDT.

There are many reasons for high rT3, and only one of them has anything to do with thyroid. And, that is when your FT4 is too high. And, the rT3 test can only tell you if your rT3 is high, but not why. So, really not worth doing. :)

Thank you grey goose. My results are always middle range for both even when I up my meds. Tbh it all messes with my mind and since I had Covid I can process things even less. I think I’d like to test just so I can see the numbers myself and then I have a starting point. It’s like I have to have something physical to look at if that makes sense? I’ve got a test for my other levels too so I’ll do that at the same time. X

OK, up to you. But, it really isn't going to help. rT3 is not any sort of a problem, anyway. Just a fact of nature.
