Gp rang beginning of November because of a letter from a Consultant re the 05 TSH result he had done. Panic ensues when they see that and it's blamed for all that is wrong with me, and believe me that is a lot. He knew nothing about NDT, naturally and not a lot about the thyroid from listening to him. Anyway I agreed to lower my dose a fraction and test again in a few months ,which I did. Will you take a look and let me know what you think. He's phoning me on Monday.
TSH 0.5. (0.3 -5.5)
T3. 5.7. (3.5 -6.5)
T4. 11. (9 - 23)
TIA. Pp

Yes ,I know that but as I said in my post every medic I meet now takes my TSH as a benchmark for all my health problems . I think it makes him feel he's achieving something when in actual fact it's been that almost since I first started medication years ago . All I wanted today was a reassurance that I can argue with him and go back to self medicating . Thanks Pp
Tell him the TSH is not a constant figure during the day and can range by up to 50%. The NDT is giving you sufficient hormones so the TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) would be low - no point in demanding more if the body says it does not want any more, if you see what I mean.
Tell him you know your own body better than he does, and you feel well on the dose you choose of the NDT. After years of taking thyroid meds, we get to know the feelings if we are under or overdosed.
It is, after all, now supposed to be a partnership between GP and patient (falls of chair laughing hysterically )
What little amount of Gp's we have appear to be in hibernation . A hibernation that has lasted a year up to now . When he rings on Monday I will have a picture of him curled up in his easy chair , with a coffee to hand sparing me 10 mins of his precious time. Oh yes serenfach , some blooming partnership. 😅 Thanks. Pp
Hi pinkpeony❤️I couldn't agree more with you on this crap about phone calls with the doctors or endos on thyroid health, my thyroid was removed in 2019 I've never seen an endo in person EVER!!! I'm due to have a phone consultation AGAIN with mine on April 28th, this I know will probably amount to nothing being done, firstly how can they see how you are, how do you look, also as you say they probably ring you on a break not like a proper doctors /endo appointment!! I've bombarded my endo with emails sending him thyroid blood work, he will respond to my concerns if not I will continue to bombarded him everyday if I need to.. Its your health not theirs👍👍👍
