Thank you for a really informative platform. I have just had some blood tests done per the recommendations on this site and need help understanding the results.

Please will someone explain how to work out the percentage in the range - it has me beaten.

I work with a homoeopath so not on Levo or NDT. Take his little sugar pills and coleus co. I know I have Hashimotos.

s-TSH .94 (0.35 - 4.94ulU/mL)

s-FT3 3.9 (2.6-5.7pmol/L)

s-FT4 11.7 (9-19 pmol/L)

Anti-TG antibodies 4.38 <4.11

Anti-TPO antibodies 787.13 <5.61

s-iron 16.7 (9 - 30.4 umol/L)

s-Transferrin 25.8 (20.2 - 44.8 umol/L)

s-% saturation 32.4 (20 - 55 %)

Ferritin 107 (20 - 300ng/mL)

s- Vit B12 270 (>138pmol/L)

s- Folate 28.9 nmol/l (no range given)

e-folate (red cell folate) 820 >285nmol/l

Vit D - homeo missed ticking the box but I'm presuming lowish (spend most of my time indoors - too flat to want to garden) and trying to get more sun. I live in Sunny South Africa.

I have started supplementing B12, Folate, Multi B and will do iron for a short while (couple of weeks) as well as eating liver once a week (not a favourite)

Ft4 is very low showing that thyroid output is failing

Ft3 is low but thyroid is doing it’s best to give enough Ft3

Thank you - no kidding this is a busy forum - don't know how you keep up!!!! Lots of us battling out there. I found your calculator in someone else's post so was able to work out the percentages. B12 came out at 16.34%? Doesn't seem good but maybe I did something wrong? I found a range of 145-910 online as the lab only gave a range >138.

What do you think?

Different labs have different ranges

Serum B12 has wide range - typical 210-680 ish

Looking for result over 500

Active B12 much lower - looking for result over 70

Need vitamin D tested too, frequently very low with Hashimoto’s
