Hi everyone, I'm seriously thinking about trying slow-release ndt. Now I'm on ndt+levo but my reserve of ndt is not very large, and not found anywhere. Instead, I found a compounded reputable pharmacy who makes something like that
What do you think about that?

Yes, there is a German pharmacy in EU that manufactures preparations with slow-release components. T3 synthetic slow release and NDT- SR up to 2 grain (18mcg T3 & 76mcg T4).
I wonder if normal NDT is equivalent to that SR-NDT or I need more .
I doubt anyone has done proper evaluation of slow release desiccated thyroid. Which is a shame.
I have my doubts that it is a good idea, but would be willing to be convinced.
Many slow release/delayed release forms of medicine do not deliver their entire claimed potency. But most medicines are not critical dose substances (and thyroid hormones are critical dose medicines) and that either might not matter or is compensated, as you imply, by somewhat larger doses.
Hopefully someone reading has tried it and will respond with their experience.
👍Thank you helvella, I think you are right. I also have doubts about the effectiveness of such a product, you can't have control. They also manufacture ndt in oily capsules(no SR). I honestly wouldn't want to waste my money on anything.
On the other hand I used T3-SR from them. 90 caps of 5mcg T3 SR, 2 caps/day along with my levo and after a month I did my tests (ft4 &ft3) and they were the same as those on normal t3 but tsh increased.
