I have read that a dose of 90-100mcg K2-mk7 is enough for up to 10,000iu D3.
Thank you. I have had to start D3 on increased dose of 6000iu as my level was low. Just wasn't sure of level of MK2 to match but I'm taking 100mcg anyway so that should e fine then.
I think it's a bit more for that vit D level ie up to 200? vitaminexpress.org/en/how-t...

Maybe it depends on where the information originates. I prefer to get my information from websites not selling the actual supplement if possible.
Maybe although tbf another, independent site indicates even higher levels (below). Personally myself and mum, dad daily dose 180mcg spray with 5000iu every other week which is just under the recommendation in previous link.I'd welcome your source, if freely available.

I no longer have my original source, I lost a lot of my links when I changed computers earlier in the year. It could very well have come from the Vit D Council which had a lot of useful information including cofactors for D3. Unfortunately their website has now disappeared due, I believe, to lack of funding as they were asking people to donate some time ago.
The recommendation was, I expect, purely as a cofactor when taking D3 and didn't refer to any other instances where K2 would be beneficial, eg cardiovascular health, osteoporosis, etc, which is mentioned in a lot of articles.
It's up to all of us to do our own research rather than blindly accept what someone on a forum says.
There are, of course, articles about the different forms of K2-MK7 - cis form and all trans form, and it's the all trans form which is recommended.
Susie. I've now emailed Grassroots Health for guidance on K2 cofactor dosage ref D3. They were previously helpful by email re a query we had ref CKD.
But I've noted their blog showing K2 dosages for D supplements varies considerably (up to 200mcg)!
Let me know if you want to see any reply.
Hi userotc, I would also like to see the reply please as this post has not clarified my question for me. There is also magnesium to consider as a Vit D co-factor & I have no clue what dose of the would be correct for 6000iu of Vit D. I currently take 500mg of magnesium citrate which gives 80mg of Magnesium.
OK. Re magnesium, I take 1g glycinate which equates to 200mg magnesium ie ~50% of RDA for men, and I took the same when on 5000iu/dy vitamin D (now half of that). I'd expect that lower amounts might reduce absorption of D but I think it's more complicated eg dependent on personal diets and absorption.
In my opinion, regular testing of serum D level is key with dosages then adjusted to fit.
