It's not a separate MK7, it's K2-MK7

There are two types of Vit K - K1 and K2.

Vit K1 is the blood clotting form of Vit K, the form given to newborn babies. It isn't a cofactor of D3 and doesn't direct calcium to bones and teeth. K1 should not be taken by people who are on blood thinning medication.

Vit K2 is the form that directs calcium to bones and teeth and away from arteries and soft tissues. This is the form that is a cofactor of D3.

There are two types of Vit K2 - MK4 and MK7.

K2-MK4 comes from animal foods - high fat dairy products from grass fed cows, egg yolks, liver and organ meats. It leaves the body quite quickly and would need to be supplemented more than once a day. As K2 is fat soluble, MK4 isn't found in low fat/lean animal foods.

K2-MK7 comes from fermented foods like sauerkraut and natto and stays in the body longer so only needs supplementing once a day.

You can get both types as stand-alone supplements, or you can get a supplement which contains both MK4 and MK7. As Vit K2 is fat soluble, it should be taken with dietary fat. Some MK7 supplements come as oil based softgels (eg Healthy Origins) or oil based sublingual drops (eg Vitabay Organic)

As i have D3 with K2 and Mk7

Are you saying you have one supplement which is D3 with K2 plus another supplement which is MK7? Or is that one supplement which says D3 with K2-MK7?

So you're taking a combined D3/K2-MK7 supplement so that's the cofactor K2 covered. Are you also taking D3's other important cofactor - magnesium which helps the body use D3?

I'm having a nightmare with this spray, so was going to ask for any recommendations on tablets! Both bottles I've had, I've got about halfway through the bottle then the spray has completely stopped working. I've taken apart and cleaned with hot water, got them working for a day or two, then same thing happened. Ended up sending one back to Holland & Barratt and getting refunded.

I also got a B12 spray from the same range, and yesterday it did exactly the same thing.

I have heard about the sprays failing before.

Don't use D3 tablets or capsules, they don't absorb very well. Go for an oil based softgel, I do very well on Doctor's Best D3 softgels, there are only 2 ingredients - D3 and extra virgin olive oil which aids absorption. I find that Dolphin Fitness is usually the cheapest supplier.

There is also D3 in sublingual liquid form - Vitabay Organic is one brand - I did try it but went back to the softgels, popping a softgel was less bothersome than dropping X amount of drops into my mouth (anything for the easiest!) and I have always done well with them.

Don't they need the K2 to go with them? Or have I read that completely wrong?

I really like the spray as it is so easy, but not impressed that they have all failed so far.

Yes you need K2. I take my D3 and K2 as two separate supplements.

I take Vit D3/MK7 in a liquid form. It also contains MCT oil, olive oil and peppermint oil (which makes for a very pleasant taste). I like that I can control the dosage based upon the number of drops. I am in the US and buy mine off Amazon:

MAX Absorption, Vitamin D3 + K2 (MK-7) Liquid Drops with MCT Oil, Helps Support Strong Bones and Healthy Heart amazon.com/dp/B06Y3X5SDZ/re...

From the manufacturer:

“Each liquid drop contains 1,400 IU of Vitamin D3 and 25mcg of Vitamin K (as MK-7), the form of K2 with the highest bioavailability. In addition, our liquid base includes MCT oil which has many benefits including enhanced metabolism and improved energy levels.”

“There is no dairy, gluten, soy, added sugars or fillers. Only Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2, MCT Oil, Organic Olive Oil and Peppermint Oil.”

One bottle lasts me 6 months. I generally take 2-3 drops daily.
