Medical centre.when I moved I had my blood retested and my Ferritin level was 80.62 ( 33-400 ) I take 1 capsule of 300 mg of Ferrous Gluconate every day as prescribed by my previous dr, this was left off my prescription and I asked for it to be added again. A very rude
GP phoned saying I was over medicated that’s why it has been stopped. First of all no one phoned or explained why. I am underactive that’s why my previous dr had given it to me in the first place along with Vitamin D which they haven’t stopped as that was previously 10. Can you please tell me what it should be.
It seems to be one continuous battle I had to buy my T3 overseas as that was stopped.

Since many people feel best with their ferritin level being half way through the range your result is not showing over-medication or anything remotely like it.
But doctors think anything within range is fine and dandy, and with some reference ranges a result of 80 for ferritin would be roughly mid-range. So I suspect the rude GP didn't actually read the reference range. That really isn't good enough, but GPs being rude is par for the course in my experience.
I have some good news though...
Prescription-strength iron tablets can be bought without a prescription at pharmacies in the UK - you only need the pharmacist's permission. I buy my own iron supplements without prescription and I've only been refused once, by Boots. I just went to another pharmacy and bought what I wanted there. Your dose of 1 tablet of ferrous gluconate 300mg is actually a small dose, by the way.
For info on what to buy and how to dose various different kinds of iron supplements, see this post I wrote for someone else :
