What are the differences between Nature-Throid, NP Thyroid, and Westhroid Pure?
I used to take Nature-Throid and it was great for me until it was reformulated. I eventually settled on Thyroid S as a replacement but need to find something else before my supply runs out, and still no sign of it becoming available again. Would one of the other two be any good?
When I take Nature-Throid it feels like its stopping me from absorbing the hormone and I have weird severe hypo symptoms fairly quickly.

All dessicated thyroid medicines are about the same as there are only two suppliers of porcine dessicated thyroid in the country as of my last research. However, all the manufacturers use different "Fillers" to deliver that medicine and that is what can block your body from using the actual thyroid medicine. I have not taken Westhroid since it "went bad" a few years ago. All the meds have had a rocky couple of years and NP crashed and burned, smelled like cat pee and I got extremely sick on it. But the last time I used Westhroid, before it changed to WP, it was great! It has the fewest filler and was considered the most pure back in the 90's. All we can do is start trying each one and get tested every 3-4 weeks to see what our numbers look like. Good luck!
Thanks. I've read that they all have fillers before but never thought anything about it. But you're right - there's definitely something in it which blocks my ability to absorb hormones. I'm better off taking nothing at all than the weird stuff that happens when I take it (though of course I feel dreadful for being so hypo). Am ordering a range of differnet things to try and hopefully something works.
