Switching thyroid meds

I'm switching from porcine to bovine and the Naturopath has suggested I take my temperature after taking Nature-Throid so we can work out how much of the bovine I should take.

So how long after taking N-T should I take my temperature?

What exactly do you mean by 'bovine'? Yes, I know that means it comes from cows, as opposed to pigs, lol, but the majority of bovine tablets are just glandulars, and don't contain any hormone. So, you have to be very careful about that. You can't substitute NDT for a glandular. Or the other way around!

Hi GreyGoose thanks for your reply. The Naturopath has suggested I use Metavive IV instead of Nature-Throid - hence the switch.

As for taking your temperature, I'm afraid I've never heard of that being done before. I think you might have to experiment a bit, taking your temperature at different times, to see if it changes, and when. I can't imagine that can ever replace doing blood tests, though.

Switching, on my side, is because N-T is so expensive to get hold of and I'm sick of paying customs and the wait for the packages!!
