I am at end of my tether. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism back in 2016/17.. Been on levothyroxine for years. Current dose 200mcg as my last tsh test was 15.7.., I hadn't been feeling right at that time, anxiety bad, bad fatigue, increased appetite, joint pains,.. I do have menopause, sliding hiatus hernia, fibromyalgia, seasonal affective disorder etc so it is hard to know what is causing what. I spent half hour on phone yesterday with training doctor all for nothing! 🙄, I said I don't feel well and don't feel meds work, really bad stiffness and joint pain in wrist and hand, pain in other parts of body and I feel so crap.. They won't do a full thyroid test she said.. Cos of the type of thyroid issue I have (hypothyroidism) said that only test tsh... How can I go about making them listen and give me what I want? Or do i really have to pay for test myself?...
I have only had vitamin b12 tested... That was only about 270..,folate and ferritin were both at low end of ranges too...
Any advice at all would mean alot I feel like crying. I am in bit of a mess and lost my mum 😭 in May after very short period of illness. Lost my ex we split. And I am alone lot of the time 😢.., I need to lost alot of weight.. But keep craving carbs etc and I'm bored alot. I also stopped 🚬 smoking In march arghh.. Is there anything I can do to get more tests done?.. Anything meanwhile I could take to help me?...

Read your post elsewhere, sorry with all you have been through when itcall comes seemingly at once.
Sadly I think paying yourself is probably the only option but before you do that I would look into testing vitamins. My doctor did the tests but I but any supplements I need. At least that way I can pick and chose and I’m sure you will get good advice on here as to trusted brands.
Thyroid meds work better if the other things are already in place. So doing things in the right order can be a big plus!
I’ve never smoked but I don’t imagine that’s easy either but don’t try to do everything at once otherwise it can be confusing. Keep a diary of what you are taking, not just meds but food as well and hopefully, in time, you will see a pattern emerging. Keep going with the pluses and make look into replacing the negative but take it steady. Make sure you have some ‘me time’. Your chat with your doctor wasn’t helping was it! But ask questions but don’t try to do too much at once. You need to know/find what helps you. Loads on here I’m sure will help where they can.
Be kind to yourself...... you are dealing with an awful lot , Stopping smoking is really brave and really hard, coping with thyroid problems is hard enough by itself without the added trauma of not being listened to or treated with respect by the doctors. And the loss of a parent is a very big thing by itself. Losing my parents knocked me off balance for a few years, but it does get better, i promise.
This is only the half of what you've got going on, and if your TSH was 15, then something about your dose of thyroid hormones was not working at all well, and must be making you feel dreadful.
How long ago was dose put up to 200 ?
GP should be retesting 6 /8 weeks after dose increase to 200 are they doing this ?
You can't do anything to make GP test FT4 and FT3 if they only want to do TSH, but they should be at least doing that to see whether your TSH is reducing on 200, and they should be questioning why TSH ended up at 15 when you were on a decent dose of Levothyroxine.
Sending you several ((hug)) 's..... and a pat on the back for how well you are doing despite everything...... yes i know you probably think you're not doing well at all, but some times life gets so hard that getting up and talking to anyone at all deserves a medal.
