I've raised my ferritin level but cholesterol now raised
I've noticed the Gp adds it every time .I've had advice from Marz about testing.
I'm going to get a full test ans one fir my daughter . I canr remember all the details apart from t3 not included on NHS tests.
I've been looking for months but confused about the levels of tests .Medisave seem to have 3 levels.
What is the best one to have ?
I dont want to half do it ive taken s long time for my daughter to be convinced that a private test necessary for full picture.
Wr both have other health issues and I think weary of opening another can of worms.
So sorry for repetition.
What comprehensive medisave test or other would anyone advises or have used? Does your Gp look at the results? Or do you have tk pay again to see a specialist to interpret results?
Thank you

Do you want thyroid only or do you want the full thyroid/vitamin panel?
You can do a fingerprick test (or venous blood draw at extra cost if you can arrange it) with either Medichecks or Blue Horizon. Discount codes are available, check their pages on ThyroidUK's main website for these here and ensure you use the codes when ordering to get the best price:
MEDICHECKS (also check on Thursdays as they have a thyroid related test discounted although it varies from week to week, you can't use any other code with a Thursday discounted test)
It's worth waiting until after the Christmas and New Year holidays as they may bring out some special discounts then.
If you are going to do the fingerprick test and want tips, please ask and I will post what works well for me.
Samples must be posted the same day to arrive, hopefully, the next day to avoid spoiling of the sample. You can use their tracked envelopes or go to the post office counter and pay extra for Special Deliver Guaranteed by 1pm Next Day. Only post Monday-Wednesday so that samples aren't hanging around over a weekend.
Just testing TSH is completely inadequate, especially as these are “within range “
A GP wouldn’t look any further with TSH at these levels, but we see thousands of members who have thyroid problems with TSH at these levels
Essential to test Ft4, Ft3, both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate and ferritin (and B12.....is included, obviously not necessary for you)
