WHICH IS BETTER ELTROXIN OR EUTHYROX

Need to find which is better Eltroxin produced by Aspen or Euthyrox Merck I feel Eurthyrox makes the body get sweats and palpitations but with Eltroxin, I feel better also my TSH 0.79 is that low or high & my FT4 is 22.11 Which of these medicines will get me the best results???

It´s impossible to say. People react differently to drugs depending on how sensitive they are to fillers. For every person who does great on a given drug, another one will have side effects.

Euthyrox was reformulated about a year or so ago, and the new formula includes mannitol which causes problems for many (the same is true for the Teva brand in the UK). I have read about people who did fine on the old formula but developed problems on the new one, so mannitol can definitely be a problem for some (the same thing happened in France a couple of years ago when Merck´s Lévothyrox was reformulated in the same way, and many people successfully treated on it for years saw a host of hypo symptoms return on the new formula).

If Eltroxin seems to work better for you, why not stick to it?

The goal when on levothyroxine is to get the TSH <1 where yours currently is. Your FT4 seems to be at the top of range or just above (depending on your lab´s reference ranges). That is where many people on levo only need it to be in order to ensure proper T4 to T3 conversion. However, you should also have your FT3 levels tested to determine how well you convert T4 to T3. If the conversion works properly, your current labs look pretty much optimal. But, once again, it depends on your FT3 levels; a poor converter can have high FT4 and low FT3.

My symptoms are slight weight gain irritation and difficulty in sleeping I will try Eltroxin as seems to suit me better with Euthyrox I seem to get severve sweating and anxious and so on

It could be that you are reacting to a filler in Euthyrox. If Eltroxin works better for you, I´d suggest you stay on it.

Euthyrox is excellent. I feel better than when I was on synthroid.
