Hello! I usually take 60mg of NP Thyroid each day. I'm currently getting symptoms of extreme overheating, tremors, sweating. Just had these results back from my GP.
TSH: 0.91
FT4: 11
FT3: 6.8
My GP has said that the T3 is on the high side and T4 on the low side, but he doesn't know how to interpret it and what it might mean. I'm totally bedridden with severe ME. GP suggested stopping medication for a few days and after one day the overheating eased. Then he suggests taking 30mg and 60mg of the NP Thyroid on alternative days. I also take the medication Pyridostigmine and I am wondering if this could be having some impact?
Any suggestions welcome thanks you.

I do not know about NP Thyroid but I presume it has a T3 element to it. You cannot take differing amounts of T3 on different days. T3 needs to be a steady dose.
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Do you have Hashimoto’s?
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
If/when on NDT make sure to take last half or third of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
